I just have to post this. I really have to salute the bravery, courage and determination of the Iraqi defenders of Um Qussar who held out for many many days against impossible odds to defend their homeland from an army of foreign invaders.

Worthy adversaries and deserving of recognition.

How do you feel about the tens of thousands that deserted or surrendered without a fight?

Are they traitors? Do they love their country any less? They SAVED Iraqi and coalition lives by not resisting the inevitable and helped pave the way for making Iraq a free country

Those are the real patriots, not Saddams toadys and thugs.

I say we salute the loved ones of the thousands, buried in mass graves, by some of the brave soldiers you are saluting..

Really some brave sonsabitches, burying live women and children...

P.S.
Is this some of the same " corageous Iraqi soldiers " who dressed up in civillian clothes and fired from groups of women and children?
Oh, it must have been another bunch of "corageous Iraqi soldiers "....

IMHO they should've given up since the very start. Outnumbered, outclassed, outsmarted, they had to use mischief and propaganda to keep their troups motivated. What would the american troups have done in similar conditions? Wave the white flag and shoot? I'm pretty sure it would've happened; the Iraqi soldiers, much like the Palestinian suicide bombers and other terrorists, used desperate measures against impossible odds.

I won't believe anything until its been verified by fox news.

Err, never mind.

Seriously, I would have to decide on how 'brave' they were on a case by case basis. Anyone involved in the above-mentioned slaughter deserves no respect. But, there may be soldiers who were innocent of atrocities, fought 'bravely' (i.e. according to the 'rules), and who (perhaps because they were given disinformaton) thought they were doing the right thing.

I’d like to take this opportunity to salute the courageous Americans that are defending our borders against the foreign invaders.
