Saw this on the web about a flaming UFO crash into the waters off South Africa:

Mercifully, the news story doesn't much entertain the space alien idea. Some idiot will hook his claws on it and ride it into a slot on Coast to Coast, though.
What a pity to have mastered interstellar travel only to flame out at the end. :D

They describe it accurately - as an "unidentified object". It's only the woos who will interpret this as anything out of this world.

I thought Romulan ale was illegal within the Federation? One of the benefits of being light years away from Starfleet Command?
God, am I a geek.

I mean a meteorite, of course.

As they always apparently do. I think this one was a bright fireball that has been misperceived as something crashing. It seems to fit the profile.

I have a terrible fear of deep water, and I can't imagine being out to sea when a meteor crashes into the ocean. Just seeing it flying overhead, then crashing in the distance would freak me out - especially if I was trapped out there in a vessel, in all that liquid expanse.
Ugh. I can barely think about it.

Unfortunately, "UFO" has almost become synonymous with "Alien Space Craft".
I think we should start referring to it as just a "UI", so as not to encourage them.

I agree. It's like the old Sagan quote about whether one believes in UFOs. Of course I believe in UFOs. I don't believe that any of them are alien spacecraft.
