hello, need someone to write me a program (payment, if you wish) in language of your preference for the task at hand. c++ or asm? ^^
reason: the new fangled games don't exit properly and continually jam my computer.
the culprit: [HL2] Counter-Strike Source
project specification: when WinXP hangs, i need program to rip the very heart out of WinXP. force a logoff, or, optionally, a task cancel. grab the hardware layer, make it shake until it gives way. w/e, i dont know how this works.
requirement: try to keep me out of the "hold the power button in" until powerdown with a 90% success rate.
program name: atheist.exe or atheist.com. or, name it as you will.
irrelevant: my computer is a Velocity Raptor™ 64 DualX™ E-SPORTS Microcomputer (http://www.velocitymicro.com/wizard.php?iid=75)

Wouldn't it be ironic if this were the case?
ETA: hats off to wikipedia. Is there anything on which they don't have an article?

Man, if I paid over $5,000 for a gaming computer and it choked like you're describing, I'd be contacting Randy, and asking him what the h4ll he did to my computer!!!
Do you get the same symptoms from ALL games, or just a select few? Are you certain it's Win XP and not the games themselves, or hardware issues? (video card perhaps)
Lots of similar complaints over here (http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/36798/) and here (http://www.planetamd64.com/index.php?showforum=44).

The guy who "designed, crafted, and tuned" your computer.

HL2 == source + steam. Both of those applications cause problems, I advise staying up to date with all the valve patches.

HL2 copy protection is steam. I don't know if they have any actual disk protection since with steam in place it is pretty pointless.
