This is the real life story of Dr. Yunis Shaikh:
Dr. Yunis Shaikh was a homeopathic doctor and also a lecturer at a private college in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad. Dr. Shaikh has been in prison since October 2000, on a very obscure charges of accusation that he allegedly made derogatory remarks about Mr. Mohammad, the messenger of the Arabian Desert.
While it is very unclear what Dr. Sheikh actually said but it is alleged that he made the following comments:
1). The Prophet of Islam was a non-Muslim before the age of 40;
2). The Prophet was not circumcised before the age of 40;
3). His first marriage was contracted when he was 25, at the time
he was neither a Muslim nor a prophet;
4). The Prophet did not shave off his bodily hair until he was 40;
5). The Prophet parents were non-Muslim as they had died before he had declared his mission as the Prophet of Islam.
It is not at all clear whether Dr. Yunis Shaikh really said all the above during a class that he was teaching to students. Nevertheless The charges were brought by The Mullah Maulana Abdur Rauf, The Protector of the Messenger's sordid Past, The chief of the Majlis Tahafuz Khatim-I-Nabuwat, The Chairman of the Committee for the Protection of the Finality of the Prophet hood.
Mr. MULLAH Abdur Rauf seems to have more degrees from Pakisthan education system than Dr. Yunis. The Pakisthan Judges, justice system and The Government of Pakistan(past and present) believe in Mr. Abdur Rauf "The MULLAH" NOT Dr. Yunis Shaikh "The TEACHER".
On 19 October 2000, Dr. Younas Sheikh was presented before a court to obtain remand. During the hearing, approximately 20 mullahs attacked Dr. Sheikh, breaking his glasses during the attack.
In August 2001, Dr. Sheikh was convicted and sentenced to death.
His first appeal heard on December 22, 2001 was denied.
His second appeal to the high court of Pakistan was supposed to have been held on January 12. However, no information has been made available on the status of that appeal.
So Dear Friends and Foes of FFI, Let us think and let us act, what this Islamic justice system can do to an highly qualified individual. Let us think about the DESERT origin of this justice system, And Let us think about its effects on human beings in general, innocent Muslims in particular.

... Islamic justice system can do to an highly qualified individual ...
I hate religeous justice taking on the power of criminal justice as much as the next guy, but what's his so-called qualifications got to do with his defense? He's a teacher of homeopathy for crying out loud! So he's qualified as what?
This reminds me of the Mumia defenders who point out his brilliant writings. Irrelevant in the extreme, and a distraction from the cause of justice.

I agree. This guy shouldn't be jailed for his "blasphemy". But he should be there for conning people out of their money with homeopathy.

So Dear Friends and Foes of FFI, Let us think and let us act, what this Islamic justice system can do to an highly qualified individual
How about sentencing people to death even though their defense attorney slept through the trial? How about executing children and the mentally retarded? How about jailing people for having sex in the privacy of their own homes? How about arresting people because the cop feels like being a jerk?
Let us thinka and let us act, what this Texas justice system can do to anybody.
Every system makes mistakes. I'm no fan of the Islamic justice system, but I don't think replacing it with a Christian justice system will help. Now, if you are complaining that religious practice should not be supported by law... well, I totally agree. Please inform George Bush.

Lets get back to the main topic of the thread.
The Innocents who are in jail or on death row DUE TO blaspheming the Quran and Muhammad, come from all religions. Usually
HINDU to MUSLIM to CHRISTIAN to JAIL or DEATH ROW
Or HINDU to CHRISTIAN to JAIL or DEATH ROW.
Militant Islamic forces in Pakistan have initiated much violence against Christians. Many Pakistani Christians have been falsely accused of breaking Law 295B and 295C (blaspheming the Quran, Muhammad, or the Prophets) - a crime punishable by death. Some have even been killed by mobs after being acquitted of such charges. We should note here None of the case that were given death sentence due to blasphemy by Pakisthan Judiciary system were carried out to the end by Pak Govt. BUT Either they are in Jail, or If they come out of the Jail alive, THEY WERE STONED TO DEATH BY THE MOB that was incited BY Mr. IMAM Mullah OF THE TOWN.
Here Are the List Pakistan Prisoner jailed For Blaspheming The Quran and Muhammad
SALEEM AND RASHEED MASIH
Saleem and Rasheed Masih, two brothers from the Pakistani city of Pasrur, were jailed on 30 May 1999 on blasphemy charges arising from a dispute with a Muslim ice cream vendor. The vendor refused to serve the Christians in the same bowls used by Muslims and told local police that they had then made "bad remarks" against Islam and Muhammad. The families of the two brothers fled their homes for fear of retaliation by local Muslim extremists. Rasheed, 32, is married with five children. His brother Saleem, 28, has a wife and three children. The two men had initially been charged with violating PPC 295-C, which carries a mandatory death sentence if found guilty of insulting the prophet Muhammad. On 11 May 2000 they were sentenced to 35 years imprisonment and a 75,000 Rs ($2,550 or over 5 years' wages) fine. An appeal has been launched in the Lahore High Court.
AYUB MASIH
Ayub Masih was imprisoned in November 1996 for "blasphemy" against Muhammad. He was sentenced in May 1998 to death by hanging. Due to the protests of concerned Christians around the world, his sentence was suspended pending the completion of his appeal. Continue to appeal to the Pakistani government to overturn this sentence. In a recent letter from prison, Ayub Masih wrote about his conditions:
"I am thankful that you are concerned about me. I am a very humble servant of God who is now in jail. I am sick with various diseases and have not been allowed any medicines - my conditions are getting worse all the time. Being a prisoner charged with blasphemy, I have been kept alone in a darkened cell where there is no light, no toilet, and no fan to cool me from the heat. I have to tell other prisoners I am here for theft or I would be beaten for being a Christian. So I have been tortured many times."
SHAFIK and RANJHA MASIH
Shafik Masih and his brother Ranjha were jaled in Faisalabad on charges of blasphemy in May 1998. On October 16 Shafik, 27, was found guilty of "lesser offenses against Islam" and sentenced to eight years in prison at hard labor, together with a heavy fine. It is not known what has happened to Ranjha.
ASIF AND AMJAD MASIH
Asif Masih was arrested in June 1999 in th etown of Jhang, south of Faisalabad. He and Amjad masih were accused of setting a copy of the Qur'an, wrapped in a towel, on fire. The police report stated that the towel was burned but the Qur'an was unharmed. It further alleges that the burning took place in the police station while the two were in custody! The only witnesses are the police who supposedly saw the incident.
ASLAM MASIH
Accused of blasphemy on December 2, 1998, in Mamum Kanjun, Toba Tek Singh. He was beaten severely by a mob, stabbed in the back and taken to a police station, where a case was registered without any investigation. No one knows about his condition now.
HUSSIAN MASIH, ISAAC MASIH (his son) and SAHAR GHORI
Charged with blasphemy on November 25, 1998, in Alipur Chatta, Gujranwala District. Isaac Masih is an evangelist who regularly held prayer meetings at their home. Local Muslims have staged protests demanding that the three be immediately hung. Muslim groups have threatened to destroy the Christian section of the town.
NAZIR MASIH
Nazir Masih, currently held in Sahiwal Jail, has been charged with making derogatory comments about Fatima, the daughter of Muhammad. If convicted, Nazir could face up to three years in prison.
HABIB MASIH
Arrested on blasphemy charges in November 1994 in Shakhot, Lahore. Current status unknown.
KINGRI MASIH
Kingri Masih, 27, of Sherabad was charged under Pakistan Penal Code Section 295-C on 4 May 2000. Masih was described by his accuser as a Christian who had converted to Islam and married a Muslim girl, but then reversed his decision and adopted Christianity again. There are no legal statutes in Pakistani laws that prohibit citizens from changing their religion, although under Islamic family law, a Muslim woman is only permitted to marry a Muslim man. Masih is now being held in Faisalabad District Jail where he is awaiting trial.

Yea, it's sad that some muslims are doing the same thing that christians did no so long ago. Maybe they'll see the light and realize that secularization is the way to go.

Well, that explains a lot.
Perhaps it explains why you cannot grasp that just because Christianity is not as bad as Islam right this very second is not necessarily due to the inherent strengths or weakness of either Christianity or Islam, but rather due to other factors.
When Christianity had temporal power, it behaved exactly like Islam. The problem in Arabia is not that they are Islamic, but rather that they are not secular.
This is why we keep referring to the history of Christianity: to show you what the religion is like when it is not constrained by a secular government. And you keep not getting it. You understand that Christianity is less violent today than it used to be, yet you seem to think that is because Christianity is more peaceful. Apparently those 1,500 years of violence Christianity weren't True Christians...
The religion hasn't changed. Christians would go back to killing in the name of God in a heartbeat, if only secular governments would give them the power. You seem to have fallen for their propaganda.
You are arguing that Charles Manson be released from prison, because he hasn't killed anybody for the 20 years he's been in prison.
Edit: for all you sticklers, read "democratic rational secular humanistic" where I merely said "secular."

You haven’t even proved that the history of Christianity is more violent then Islam’s can we discuss the facts and evidence instead of adding more literature to the argument.
