NEW YORK - Television's top talk show host, Oprah Winfrey (news), has had second thoughts about retiring.
Winfrey extended her contract with King World Productions by two more years, taking her through the 2007-2008 television season, and agreed to make more shows over the next few years than planned, it was announced Monday.
At her last contract extension, Winfrey, 49, had said she would quit her show after the 2005-2006 season. "

You'd puke all the harder if they didn't shoot her in soft focus. At least you have that to be thankful for. :D

Thanks for depressing me...

All I need even more years of a rich woman with a private cook and nutritionist, and a private work out coach telling me how I should lose weight like she does....

Add in the stylist and unlimited funds for designer clothing (hey, my butt looks better in Ralph Lauren) and I wonder why she doesn't look, well, better.

Heck, I'm even a wee bit thinner than she is, and I do it by little old self. Give me a few million and I could look like Kate Moss.

She should just launch a 'Big O' satellite where her devoted followers can have all Opra all the time.

Non-stop Opra programming that does nothing but promote her magazines, books, web sites, movies, TV shows, and interviews.

Ugh!

Come on! It's a power thing. An ego trip. Tell me, who wouldn't love to have their own tv talk show named after them? She couldn't care less what her non fans think of her. I don't particularily like her either but some of her topics are good and some of her guests are interesting, Jim Carrey especially:D

There is something about having an afternoon talk show to watch, if you are lucky enough to be at home at that time.

The thing I don't like about her is her interviewing style. She never lets the person finish answering her questions before she jumps in and takes over.

The Oprahfying of our country has weakend us. We have men crying all the time, children run wild cause you cant smack them anymore, families break up cause women expect too much from their men, and people think think they can parent just as well even if they work a full time job. ITS ALL OPRAHS FAULT!

If you took all the women who are devoted to Oprah and who can't think for themselves, and added Dr. Phil, and locked them all in a giant box at the bottom of the ocean . . .

you'd be off to a good start.

And what is exactly your point here?

Are you jealous of a rich black woman?

...or are you upset because her popularity shows the culture and taste of the average US citizen?

I understand why trash TV and celebrities are so popular in the USA, maybe we share the same feeling here...

I'm so happy that watching Oprah is voluntary where I live. I volunteer not to.

We need to get rid of Dr. Phil first. He always blames the guy. Well ok that whole show is blaming the guy. Ever notice most her books in her book club are about some poor women who was abused by her husband and it's her tale of overcoming that? Then again, I could leave my balls with my SO, put on a dress and continue the pussification of America for the kind of money she makes. Women watch shows like Oprah, use her advice, then wonder why they can't find a "real man."

My girlfriend once worked in a photo lab where Oprah's personal photographer would get his pics developed and re-touched. She wouldn't get me any copies (and I did ask!) of the un-retouched photos, but assured me they were very, very scary.

WE don't get a lot of cable channels, but we do get Lifetime, which I refer to as the "Men SUck" station. Nothing but movies about how evil men are. They beat women, steal their children, cheat, sleep with their step daughters....

What is men had a channel with nothing but movies about how rotten women are?

Men, ha, Oprah can't even bring herself to marry Stedman (oh no, I know the name of her boyfriend....).

I was given to understand that John Edward will be an Oprah guest soon. Will she accept his act without skepticism?
