Perhaps I thought it was more obvious than it was?

I think Chris Angel has many sideshow folks in his employ.

Two "little people", or one "little person" and one legless woman...

The diversion would have been choosing "randomly" from the crowd, so the second "individual" wouldn't be looked at too closely...

I hope this isn't considered disclosing a secret...I'm not a magician by any stretch...

It would be more interesting how he would rejoin the "person" and get them away without anybody noticing.

problem with him is he uses plants all the time. you can't believe that anyone around that bench is a random person. cleanup would be a problem

Yeah, whenever a magician asks a person selected from the crowd 'Do I know you?/Have we ever met?' type of stuff you just gotta groan.

Kevin James does an illusion with a midget with no legs.Sawn in half I htink then torso runs around theatre! rather weird and unnerving.

It's obvious the lady pulling the top "half" is a plant also. Because once she gets her off the bench, she gently sets her down before freaking out. A normal person would have dropped her, if they had even bothered to pull her the whole way off.

Kind of like the plants in the episode where Angel walked through a glass window.

Normal people holding the paper near the window instead of going 'oh golly gee that is neat', or whatever they said, would have snuck a look behind the paper, dropped the paper, etc.

LOL.Do all American people scream and run away after seeing a basic trick? If you did the same on a U.K street people would either nod and walk off or thump you until you told them how it works!! :D

I don't know about screaming, but I'd expect people to be more curious about tricks, especially ones that walk through 'solid' glass.

Oh, gotcha. Yes, I agree. Everyone always goes 'OOooOHH' and covers their mouth or says 'oh s***' or something. LOL.

I would like to be there when they filmed one of those. I can imagine the crew talking prior to starting: "maybe if we get some really good reactions you'll end up on TV. The last group just kind of stood there and said 'cool' so we need to shoot it again."

I'm just guessing.

Maybe.But some of the reactions on Blaine's shows at least,seem real but yet why would someone scream and runaway just because you guessed their card??! Only in America,I tell you. :p

It's nothing to do with America, it's because screaming on cue is what they got paid to do.

It used to bother me that the audience reactions for Blain and Angel seemed a bit over the top. Recently, however, I've begun to think differently.

It started this past spring when I was doing magic at a high school graduation party. I noticed that I was getting much bigger reactions to my tricks than I was used to. I believe it's because these kids had all seen Blain and Angel and thought that was how they were supposed to react!
