I think that it is unfortunate that one token civilian casualty is always singled out to be the darling of the press, flown to the best hospitals for no expense spared treatment. It is always a nice looking child or young girl, never some old fat smelly hobo. I think this sort of"star casualty" business is very cynical....However, this kid can't help that and I think the "disarmed" line is contemptable, both in the satirical newspaper and its use as a thread topic here. I agree with free speech but that also means I can call the publishers of this headline thoughtless pricks....

My son just made the comment : "I think The Chaser has finally gone too far".

Now those are words I never expected to hear.

Do you remember the Terrorthon (http://abc.net.au/cnnnn/profiteering/terrorthon) or this story (http://www.abc.net.au/cnnnn/news/s686640.htm) from CNNNN?

yes, I understand this..... There is always a place for cutting edge political satire. I just think the publishers should be ashamed, making a cheap pun out of this kids injuries. They should aim higher. Maybe one day they will graduate to fart jokes.
