Hey, Jesus has his back turned in this picture. Does he also have a cartoonishly giant schnozz?

Does anyone else notice a similarity between the people in that cartoon and the drawings found in chick-tracts?

Someone once said that the original is more disturbing, I think I agree with them.

I agree. While the first one is funnier, the second has tjhe major creeposity edge of actually being sincere.

Bush-Schmush. I don't get it. It wasn't funny at all, I didn't really see how the text matched the caption at the bottom.

I assume that the "another" Jesus is speaking of would be the "antichrist" the caption refers to.

I think the author of the cartoon is a bit confused. Jesus seems to be peed off that nobody accepts him while someone else gets all the attention...

Maybe Jesus was the first ever troll?

Uh.... right. I don't get it either.

I thought I got it until I went back and looked again. Now I am wondering:

1) Why Jesus has lighter skin than all his fellow countrymen?

2) If the guy in expensive robes represents greed and the fat guy represents gluttony, what's with the happy guy carrying a door? And even if those guys don't represent specific sins and are just close-minded, what's with the happy guy with the door?

This is going over my head.

It might help the context if I knew who Hal Lindsay is. I went to the home page, but it looks chaotic to me, taking too much to navigate. Can soemone sum him up? At first I thought political satirist, but the homepage threw me.

Some of them are quite funny

Just a little dishonest...

Others are funny unintentionally

Forget WMD, every Christian nation should be preemptively attacked before they use this:

Think: but either way, someone's kid gets screwed.

Some are not funny at all, and just plain dishonest!

But some of them are very disturbing

The Chirac and Saddam one is funny.

I read this by the way somewhere and it is a good line:

You think it is a coincidence Chriac rhymes with Iraq?

I am completely flabbergasted.

I don't even know how to read this. He says it's a "good line." Is it a joke that's just not funny? Does it seriously draw a connection, and just point out the lunacy anyone who repeats it? I mean [Chirac] and Iraq don't even rhyme anyway! Anymore than Iraq rhymes with "oven rack" or "butt crack."

Hey Billiefan, I think I have a good idea who the real antichrist is. I'm not sure, but I have it narrowed down to 2 possibilities: Michael Bolton and Kenny G.

You think it is a coincidence Chriac rhymes with Iraq?Actually, yes, I do.

I also think it is purely coincidental that 'Bush' rhymes with 'douche'...

Well, I wrote to him about his "Weapon of Mass Devotion" cartoon.

It seems it's not as literal as first thought.

You misinterpretated what I was saying. Prayer is the most powerful
weapon against a regime as satanic as Saddam's. PTL! John Rule
<~~His final response to me.

<~~my last letter to him:
Thanks for answering so quickly; OK so it apparently worked for you
(law of averages comes into play at some point, perhaps). But,
assuming you're right:Do you really think that our soldiers would
succeed in the battlefield if all they had was just prayer, with NO
weapons or equipment? That was the question I originally asked,
since that's what your cartoon seems to be saying (unless I've
misinterpreted it?)
>
> PS. If this seems offensive, it's not my intention. I'm just
trying to see what your view is. (Don't worry, this'll be my last
letter to you! :) )

On the off chance that this cartoon (http://hallindsey.com/cartoons.asp?CID=74)is
serious and literal in its portrayal, oh boy!
> > >
> > > If you're a veteran, you of all people should
realize that prayers alone will do you squat on a battlefield. At
most, it's a "placebo" that makes the civilians feel like
they're doing something and may give some comfort to the troops.
Make no mistake, though. If prayer was all they had, they'd find out
pretty quick that it is NOT "the most powerful weapon on the
battlefield"! I'm just glad that no one in the administration
has yet to give anything but lip service to that idea.If they ever
actually took that idea seriously, then any war campaign would be
suicide for the troops!
