Hey, I wrote about skepticism on my Myspace blog. Just a general stance, wanted to know what you-all thought about it.

...the first entry is me making fun a Jack Chick tract, so you gotta get past that...

...okay, I admit it. I just wanted to get you guys to read the Jack Chick thing. Sorry. But further down I really do talk about it! Honest!

I think the fact that MySpace has become at all popular is more or less evidence of some sort of paranormal event

Ye gads but the interface is awful. :boggled:

I second that. It would be one thing if people actually knew how to design a website that was actually viewer friendly. But a lot of people seem to think that it's cool to throw every visual element they can in there without realizing that it actually obscures the text that they want people to read!

And don't get me started of the truly horrific search engine they have.

I'm Jack Chick's worst freakin nightmare.

I'm mormon (strike one).

I probably play too much World of Warcraft for my own good (sword and sorcery games, strike two).

And my guild leader (not to mention one of the better friends I've had) really is a wiccan (this is the point where Chick would have a brain hemmorhage).

I'm basically the girl in that comic, only I'm not a chick (get it? :D) and I have the extra baggage.

I'm fairly certain that if Chick and I were to meet in real life, we'd both mutually annihilate and knock the earth out of it's orbit.

Anyone know his address?

Every generation has to go through a phase when they first discover the blink tag and background music. My generation did it with geocities. The fad will pass, they will move on, and their children will repeat their mistakes.

I browse myspace just to laugh at all the OOOHHHH IM SO COOOOOL pictures. Nothing is better than a blog raging against the man with a punch the monkey flash ad at the top.

No self repsecting geek would be caught dead with a myspace or gmail. Especially since your own domain and hositing cost as much as a weeks worth of toilet paper these days.

Myspace is for people who want websites but dont want to put any time or thought into it. So they take the easy way out and submit to allowing the man to spam all their visitors with endless "punch the ......" flash ads.

Or they're for people who just have a couple of friends on it and want to keep up with them, is all. F'er instance, I get a kick out of keeping up with the some people and making a themed page with their names replaced with favorite fictional characters (although I went halfway, changing the theme from "The Invisibles" to "Priest" and now can't think of who Lauren should be).

Honestly, I think you guys are reading way too much into a myspace registration. Most people just got a couple friends they want to keep in touch with, is all.

Onto the MAIN TOPIC, I'm glad you guys liked the Jack Chick tirade. I was gonna do another one, but it was on the anti-evolution one and wasn't so much funny as preachy, and I decided to scrap it. Maybe later...but thanks to everyone that read it.
