I saw a picture in my newspaper (Austin American-Statesman) that showed some Palestenian students protesting in peace.

From the editorials on page A14

Palestinian students of the University of Bir Zeit protested the closure of the West Bank city of Ramallah by the Israeli army Thursday by holding their books up while they sat on the main road leading to their university.

I hope they're on the road map to peace.

Well, Gem, all I can say is, this is the interest you will get if you protest peacefully. Just about none whatsoever.

No wonder there is violence.

Agreed, who wants to do a lot of coverage on a bunch of students protesting something they don't like?

How many more are doing this in palestine? They need a mascot to feed the press, THEN it will work like MLK and Gandi. I'm in no way saying these two people were press mascots, all I'm saying is that you need the press to cover the peaceful demonstration to have any effect.

Not when the press is busy covering the results of the latest palestinian suicide bombing, at any rate.
