When Mr. Randi helpfully mentioned, in his 23 May Commentary, the certification number for his 19 May 2003 letter to Sylvia Browne, I couldn't resist checking it on the US Postal Service Track & Confirm website (http://www.usps.com/shipping/trackandconfirm.htm), where anybody with an Internet connection and a browser can see how Ms. Browne treats this whole matter. To quote from the letter's USPS delivery record (http://trkcnfrm1.smi.usps.com/netdata-cgi/db2www/cbd_243.d2w/output?strOrigTrackNum=70030500000230348133&CAMEFROM=OK):
"Your item was refused by the addressee at 12:12 pm on May 22, 2003 in CAMPBELL, CA 95008 and is being returned to the sender."
I'd say that's a fitting metaphor for the necessary rejection of rational thought required of Ms. Browne and other pseudo-psychics.
