Nice, but limited to Christians and Muslims. Catholicism offers some very strong imagery of this "power of faith": crucifixions (http://www.ocexcelsior.com/mis_tradiciones/tradiciones/2006/abril/images/0414_mis_trad_iztapalapa1.jpg), self-flagellations, pilgrims crawling their knees (http://www.corazones.org/lugares/portugal/fatima/zrodillas.jpg) up to churches, etc.

On the left, a pilgrim in Fátima, Portugal, crawling on her stomach all the way up to the Chapel of the Apparitions. On the right, a view of the esplanade from the basilica. The chapel is the building on the right. The pilgrim made it all the way from behind wall seen in the back.

It amuses me when adherents to religion X get the creeps when they witness the excesses of adherents to religion Y, even if religion X often legitimizes similar behavior. For example, the christians who got boners from watching Mel Gibson's "Thrashing of the Christ" would find it disturbing to watch Shia Muslims flagellate and cut themselves -- and their young boys, I've gathered -- during their holiday of Ashura.
