Has any1 read this book?
From what I've been told, it chronicles the history of non-belief and I'd like to buy it.

“Superb scholarship in an easy to read format. The author, Jennifer Hecht, is fully capable of recapitulating the salient pericopes.”
People: is this postmodernism in action? Are these folk actually among us.
Is Alan Sokal aware of this tome?

You can hear an interview with the author on the Skepticality podcast: Interview: Jennifer Michael Hecht (Doubt) (http://skepticality.libsyn.com/index.php?post_id=11202#)
Synopsis:
We discuss our new website, Swoopy covers the news, and we have an incredible discussion with Jennifer Michael Hecht. Author of the book 'Doubt: A history'. She is a wonderful writer. Not only is the subject matter engaging, she's fun to read. There are only a few bumpy spots in this one, I've been recommending it all over the place.

If I was about fifteen years younger, female, and had purple hair, I could see you making that mistake. In this case, however, I'm just a fan.:D
I really did like the book, though. No, really. lol.
