French Fries are back on the hill (http://www.washingtontimes.com/national/20060802-125318-3981r.htm).

The fries on Capitol Hill are French again.
So is the breakfast toast in the congressional cafeterias, with both fries and toast having been liberated from the appellation "freedom."
Three years after House Republicans trumpeted the new names to get back at the French for snubbing the coalition of the willing in Iraq, congressmen don't even want to talk about french fries, which are actually native to Belgium, and toast.
Neither Reps. Bob Ney of Ohio nor Walter B. Jones of North Carolina, the authors of the culinary rebuke, were willing this week to say who led the retreat, as it were, from the frying pan. But retreat there has been, as a casual observer can see for himself in the House's basement cafeterias.

So, it looks like congress isn't serious about this war on terror after all. :covereyes

All this nonsense could have been avoided if only you called them "chips" like every normal person.

Well, I'm sure the French are breathing a sigh of relief after this dramatic news.
One can only imagine the pain this caused their country.

Now, does this also mean it's OK to French kiss again?

Are you implying that the only normal people in the world are British?

I think he is, I think the word "normal" was a little, shall we say, unwise? I would have used the term "right-thinking" :p ;) (come on, we don't have an empire any more, the least we can do is mock our former colonies, it's not as if we can beat them at anything any more)

Does this mean that it's ok to drink French wine now? A bit expensive, but the quality is well worth it, in my opinion.
