Skeptics will find elements of this situation familiar, such as previous statements by Johor Hominid advocate Vincent Chow to this effect: "Now, when I asked Vincent if he had seen the creatures himself, he said he had seen the photographs that could not have been faked."

... of course Cryptomundo offers the fancy disclaimer that we should expect from Bigfootery. You can't touch our Bigfoots and now remember too that you can't touch the Malaysian Bigfoot.
Please remember…the hoax is about the photographs…not about the sightings, not about some footprints, not about the 1970s’ reports and tracks found, not about the lore from the area…in general, the photographs have little to do with the overall “Malaysian Bigfoot” melodrama, although “they” had become the story. The Malaysian Orang Dalam story is unsolved.
... yes, this kind of melodrama and Tomfoolery is nothing against the GOOD evidence such as this footprint casting. Ladies and gentlemen, meet the foot of the Johor Bigfoot....

A hippo track:
Ironically this photo was posted on Bigfoot Forums a few hours before the hoax photo story broke!

You think it's a cast of a hippo track? BTW, no hippos in Indonesia.
Wait... Johor Bigfoot is actually an undiscovered hippo!

I stand corrected. I based my suggestion on a post made by "Colobus" on a Cryptomundo comment here: http://www.cryptomundo.com/cryptozoo-news/what-in-cast/
colobus Says:

Anyone here is really surprised that it was a fraud?
Now, some cryptomundo posters say the subjects are clearly humans in monkey suits, point to "obvious flaws" etc. If these people also think Patty is better than the costumes at those pics, IMHO they are delusional.
Another issue: The use of pics from a book indicate what the hoaxers expected from their targets.
