I decided to check out the Charlie Daniels website after reading in the 5/30 commentary that Charlie Daniels had his anti-gay thoughts posted there. Well, I looked at the lyrics he has posted for "Long Haired Country Boy." The following lines from the ORIGINAL song are NOT posted:
People say I'm no good and crazy as a loon
Cause I get stoned in the mornin, get drunk in the afternoon
Drunkard wants another drink of wine and the politician wants a vote
I don't want much of nothing at all but I will take another toke
These missing lyrics (in fact, altered, in the case of "drunk" now being "down"!) made me feel like I'm reading 1984 again! Guess CD has found religion and lost drugs and alcohol. Now he's a clean-cut religious guy, doing God's work by bashing a few gays?
