View Full Version : How many people did the truthers NOT kill today?

As you may have heard by the time you read this, british authorities broke up a plot to repeat 9-11 with as many as 6 aircraft.

This is why conspiracy debunking is so important. Political issues aside, the CTs would have law enforcement and the courts chasing ghosts through Dick Cheneys filing cabinet while ignoring the real threat.

I've often used the analogy of trusting a gynecologist to perform brain surgery to describe the truthers deliberate ignorance of structural engineers and demolitions experts. You wouldn't let even the most brilliant doctor in a field other than neurosurgery to take out brain tumors when just one life is at stake. There is far more than one life at stake in finding the truth about 9-11. There are thousands, even millions of lives at stake. Yet the truthers are willfully and knowingly determined to get it wrong. They will take the opinion of economists, philosophers and theologians over that of engineers.

This has been an amusing and entertaining excersize for most of us, but today should remind us that we are fighting for more than just imaginary ego points, we are fighting for peoples lives.

And yet people still email me asking why a Brit should be "so interested" in 9/11, like that's somehow suspicious & unlikely...

It seems the plan was to blow up the planes, presumably in flight, rather than copy 9-11.

I was watching the initial reports on the news. These are of course the kind of early "fog of war" reports that are often inaccurate or overstated wich 5 years from now the CTs will be quoting as gospel.

I'm open to being corrected as to the exact details of the plot but my point about CTers getting people killed stands.

This plot, however large or elaborate, was stopped because law enforcement was out there hunting terrorists, not wasting time and energy digging through Tony Blairs sock drawer.

I've said it before and someone said it before me: Conspiracy Theorists are like a watchdog that barks at every shadow. It thinks its doing a great job, when in fact it is less than useless.

If you're thinking - "hey, maybe this will convince the LCers that they're all idiotic psychopaths" - well, don't hold your breath.

I'm so stealing that line.

The good news folks, is unlike 9/11 where the CT crowd had a 2-3 year head start, we are right here and now to foil and disprove any of their Bullsheet.

If a government foils a terrorist plot, it is a psy-op to instill fear into the people. If a terrorist attack is carried out, it is an inside job by a government.

Only in CT world.

I'm not. I just oppose any distortions of the truth. I don't have any real agenda* for debunking anything, and I certainly don't do it because I think that I have any real impact on saving other's lives.

*Well, unless thinking that "the truth" is something to be obtained through knowledge and critical thinking is an agenda.

Haha, I've already seen attempts to describe the whole plot as a conspiracy to cover up action in the Middle East. I've done my best to talk a little sense into some of the more paranoid idiots.
