Teen battles state over cancer treatment

This (http://www.cnn.com/2006/LAW/08/11/cancer.fight/index.html) is pretty interesting. If he has his way, he is more likely to die. But what about the legal aspects? Is 16 old enough to make this kind of decision? The court will decide, but what are your opinions?
