(Todays award for understatement going to Dan Gillerman, Israeli UN envoy, describing the proposed UN "peace keeping" force:
"It would be very difficult if not inconceivable for Israel to accept troops from countries who do not recognise Israel, who have no diplomatic relations with Israel," he told the BBC. He said they would be "very happy" to accept troops from Muslim countries they have friendly relations with.
"But to expect countries who don't even recognise Israel to guard Israel's safety I think would be a bit naive," he said.

How can any "non-aligned" UN members have thought that this could be acceptable? Guarded by people who don't recognise your right to exist?

I thought they had pledged 5,000 when the talks first started. (I may be remembering it wrong, of course).
If the UN can't even scare up the initial force to patrol the area, what then?!

I thought Israel was surrounded by rabid anti-zionists who only want it's destruction, or at least that's what I'm told here. Apparently that isn't so.

Do you see Israel's objection as reasonable? Yes/no answer please.
(For bonus points you could confirm that while some Muslim states - say Turkey - are relatively friendly, and others - say Egypt - have peace treaties, still others - say Syria - could be accurately described as anti-zionist/Israel/semetic. But of course you know this and are just playing word games.)

Israeli jets are apparently flying bombing sorties again -- taking out specific Hezbollah targets in the Bekaa Valley, along the Syrian border.

The post written by you.
The other posters are perfectly lucid.
Perhaps one of them could explain to you about punctuation.

The French were front and center for Israel to stop its military operations...and they were front and center to draft up a U.N. Security Council resolution to stop Israel's military operations....but when it came time for someone else to deal with Hezbollah militarily France "stepped up to the plate" with 200 soldiers. YEAH! Israel is saved!
p.s. Even Bangladesh has pledged more troops than "Old Europe" ;) AKA Mighty France.

Bangladesh, unfortunately, has to do this as a source of revenue as much as anything else.
