Ok, I consider myself skeptical on most things and last night my brother and I saw this video at a site that usually hosts comedic vids but this was there and we saw it and I couldnt tell him how it was done and he wants to know.

Really fast car. :\
It probably made a hole in the fence somewhere else that they didn't show.

The car didn't disappear, it went around a chain link fence. Apparently the cops couldn't follow for some reason.
I'll have to watch it again but it is possible they the runner turned off his lights (wisely) to avoid being seen.

The "ghost car" goes past the end of the fence (out of frame to the left). If you look at the video again you'll see that the cop car isn't directly behind the car it is chasing when it approaches the fence. That car approaches the fence from a different angle. Absent video footage showing that the fence continues unbroken to the left, there's nothing "paranormal" to explain.
It makes for a cute video, but it's hardly "believe it or not" material.

if u follow the cars taillights with ur eyes u can see where it basically is, the point its at when it clears the point the fence is at is obvious and the fence isnt broken.
My guess was it somehow hit a lucky bump and ramped the fence but when the cop car approaches the fence the cop car doesnt seem to hit an incline cause the cameras angle stays straight so I dunno but I obviously don't think that a cop is dump enuff to see the car go straight thru the fence and leave a huge hole and not see it and if so why would they make a point of the video? They would just let it go as a mistake I think.
One other possibilty is the car ran the fence over so quickly it didnt break anything and the fence somehow sprung back up.
As for the car actually going thru the fence and busting it I just don't see how that could have happend. I've seen a lot of police chases and not just on reruns of cops and they don't usually make stupid mistakes like that, they drive really well.

Krelnius...
I posted this yesterday in the Forum Community thread...
Read the answers there...and then point everyone to your thread here as this is the right section for it...
Here's my thread from yesterday on the same item...

It is just ordinary video footage of a car chase. The suspect car was able to make a turn (unseen) around a section of chain link fence faster than one of the chase cars could follow it. The chase car jams on the brakes because there's a fence in the way.
Please don't believe EVERYTHING you see on TV. Taking things out of context and lying to make them dramatic is considered fair play by TV producers.
However, one thing is probably true. The Garden City Police may call that footage "the ghost car"...but they do so laughingly: the joke is on the officer who didn't make the turn in time and got caught at the fence, e.g. "Remember the time Vinnie got outmaneuvered by the ghost car? LOL".

I believe I saw this on "Wildest Car Chases" or one of those programs. As I recall, the narrator explained that the car knocked down a section of the fence (out of video) and the suspects got away.
I could be mis-remembering it, but the video looks like the one I recall.

The more I watch it the less impressed I am. The car goes off screen and is seen later on the opposite side of a fence.....
G-G-G-G-GHOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAH! :shaggy: :scooby-do :velma: :fred: :daphne:
Wanna bet the cops got that "ghost car's" licence number on file?

I love the narrator.
"...driving like a man possessed."
"...showing off a seemingly supernatural speed."
uh, yeah

Me and a friend have already done this before, my friend evaded cops by taking off his lights and pulling into a darkened driveway within a span of a couple seconds and it worked.
