By now, everyone is aware that there have been three new planets (http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/chi-0608170088aug17,1,3603152.story?coll=chi-opinionfront-hed)proposed for our solar system. For scientists, it is a question of how to define a planet, but for astrologists, it is a catastrophe. Their charts are going to be totally buggered now. They're so used to throwing out things like "Saturn makes a strong impact on your business portfolio" that this news must have their knickers in a twist like no time since the discovery of Pluto.
Or perhaps it is a boon to them. Now they can sell new horoscopes based on this info. After all, who wouldn't pay to see what influence 2003UB313 has on their sex life.

Woo! I had heard the guy who discovered one of those new planets on NPR's Talk of the Nation - Science Friday. He mentioned the upcoming meeting and I thought it sounded amazing. I was stoked to hear the outcome! Very cool, thanks.

So thats why my horoscope was never right! I always thought it was because astrology was a load of BS. Its because the astrologers were not taking account of the affects of these planets.

Hopefully, this will not cause the rise of militant fundamentalist Astrologers performing terrorist acts.

How will astrologers cope?
The better question to ask would be, "Why didn't any astrologer know about the existance of any of these 'new' planets in the first place?"
If astrologers are able to interpret the effect planets' energies have on other people, wouldn't they also be able to detect the presence of any undiscovered planets in our solar system?

Being a former astrologer (unpaid), they have an excuse for Everything. Those planets will explain ALL of their mistakes.

Well, if it were a SCIENCE, maybe. Remember, science DID predict other planets based on orbital anomalies. (Back when we didn't know as much as we do now)

Now, come on. They'll just say they knew they were there all along and changing their name won't mean anything.

They seemed to cope OK when we found Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. I can't imagine they'll have any huge problems now.

Those planets will explain ALL of their mistakes. And introduce a whole heap of new ones, together with its own novel assortment of excuses.
This prediction is obvious if one considers the natal chart and conjunctions of the newly proposed planets.
