On another board, some people are claiming astrology is a science and works. I need some links that show astrology tested (even blind tested) and it doesn't work.
of course, they want "unbiased" links. That may mean tests done by astrologers.
But I want scientific ones.
Thanks.

Start here (http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/misc/astrology.html) and follow Phil Plait's links on the subject, and then read Dean and Kelly's great paper on the subject (http://www.imprint.co.uk/pdf/Dean.pdf) which is way more interesting and easy to absorb than the title suggests.

Then go here (http://www.youtube.com) to see that funny video of those Chinese kids singing the Backstreet Boys song.

You might also want to see http://www.astrology-and-science.com/ which I find a very good resource on astrology.

With such vague predictions, how can you test it? When they say, "I see a change in your life in the next two years." Well, yeah, they win that prediction, but do they ever say, "You will sleep with Claudia Schiffer on February 12th, 2007."? Have tests with that amount of accuracy been tested?

I remember reading somewhere that there had been 37 (?) tests of astrology, some of them were tests in which astrologers had set the criteria for success beforehand. In all of the tests astrology failed. I think I read it somewhere on the internet, because I remember (perhaps falsely) seeing links to the tests. I've been searching for this study, but haven't been able to find it again. I might be mistaken, perhaps I really read it in a book.

Skeptico's got some good stuff in his Astrology section (http://skeptico.blogs.com/skeptico/astrology/index.html).

Skeptico's got some good stuff in his Astrology section (http://skeptico.blogs.com/skeptico/astrology/index.html).Specifically this list of tests (http://skeptico.blogs.com/skeptico/2005/02/what_do_you_mea.html) that astrology failed.

The Shawn Carlson test in the journal Nature was designed by astrologers.

Unbelievable that people have the simple lack of shame and embarrassment at peddling this nonsense as science
