Somtimes I think I pick a side just to annoy people. Its not even done purposly.
Dont act like ya'll dont do the same. How many times to people hop on the soapbox and preach only to do an about face when their favorite guy gets caught doing the same.
Sure is fun though.

Weell,
This thread appears to be dying. How can we help it? say something unpopular?
I think that both sides in the Middle east are wrong and need to be scolded severly for continuing to kill each other, I propose they all drink Coke and learn to get along with each other.

Sure is fun though. I never thought about that ....
I would never ever do such a thing, and you know it. (What a moron .... )

Picking a side you don't necessarily agree with to search for the truth and test ideas is called 'playing the Devil's advocate'.
Picking a side just to annoy people?
That's called trolling.

Most of the time. Rarely I will take a position that seems ludicrous just to see if I can defend it. (I recall making an argument to Franko that a toaster was more complex than humans), but usually only if the other poster is being a total jerk. Is there such a legal defense as Justifiable Trolling?

1: Toasters obey the laws of physics
2: Humans obey the laws of physics
3: You are a toaster

I think that is called being a gadfly.
