In spite of all the death and destruction these past few months, Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki is pretty optimistic.

Prime minister does not foresee civil war

On Sunday, nearly 50 Iraqis were killed in sectarian violence. But despite the high death toll, Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said he did not foresee a civil war in Iraq and that violence in his country was abating.

"In Iraq, we'll never be in civil war," al-Maliki told CNN's "Late Edition" on Sunday.

I wonder if the man is in touch... Just today they are reported bombing attacks with nearly 100 killed, many more wounded, and 8 US soldiers killed.

I wonder too, Bikewer.

I'm sure the spin will go both ways though. Someone will ask, "and I suppose you know more than the Iraqi Prime Minister?" and someone else will ask, "Isn't this a perfect example of the puppet government we installed?"

Yeah, yeah, I know they VOTED for him . . . ;)

I wonder at what point ANYONE will admit Iraq is in a civil war?
