One of the things not on Dan Evan's FAQ is the Judge Fox quote right at the beginning. That is discussed (and the movie in general) on Quatloos here:

Apparently Fox was laying out the issues of the case and in the final decision of the case ruled against those making the same arguements the movie makes!
