If you were on the cruise, you should have received an email subject of "Amaz!ng Adventure Digital Media Request!" by now, at the same email address you got your pre-cruise information.
If you haven't, just PM me.
I've already got 3 sets of photos turned in and color/exposure corrected. Well, 2 sets turned in. And my set.
For those who didn't make the cruise, but want copies of the DVD just to see some of your TAM friends in action (and I can't blame you, I'd want these too if I were in your position), I quote you a relevant part from the email that just went out.
There are many who didn't go on the cruise but have expressed interest in this set. They want to see pictures of their friends from TAMs past..... I was going to ask that they cover my expenses for their DVDs and shipping. Instead, I've decided to ask them to make a donation to the JREF in whatever size they feel appropriate, it needn't be large, $10 even. But, I won't discourage them from doing more if the mood strikes. Renewing expired/expiring memberships would be good. This aspect of the plan is still not settled. Does anyone on the cruise object? Speak up if you do. Don't be shy.
So, that is where it is at. You'll know as soon as I know if anyone objects. You won't know who, unless they tell you, though. If you haven't heard anything, it's still a go. There are 3 possible outcomes that I can see. You can get exactly what we get, or get a set that is missing some material, or maybe none. The first two would seem the likeliest, judging by most of the PMs and emails I've been getting.
The race is on to get these done.

There wasn't an authentic thing about that place. Even the "inhabitants" were phoney. RC probably bought that sandspit for next to nothing, and the rate of return must be phenominal.

When I was searching for the web for Cococay's location, so I could give the Google Maps link, I found that it's real name is Lesser Stirrup Cay, and it's leased by RC. Of course, it's the web, so it could be incorrect.

I don't think RC is the sole owner, Norwegian Cruise Lines stopped there on my other cruise in 98.
NC refered to it, as a private insland in the Bahamas.
I doubt anyone lives there, there are some decent sized warehouse looking buildings near the nature trail, but nothing that looked like living quarters.

If it were, at least I would have been able to tell it apart from Labadee, the "private island*" we went to on our previous Royal Caribbean cruise. Actually, the more I think about it, a tiny tourist island inhabited solely by Elvis impersonators has a certain appeal.

The more I think about these "private islands," now that I've seen one, the more annoyed I get. We would have had exactly the same activities had we gone to Key West after Cozumel (and Key West had opened back up by then), or had we stayed in Cozumel or gone to Belize, and they probably would have been less expensive.
No, I'm not foaming-at-the-mouth angry about it, but I am disappointed. It's just that I've now seen the emperor with his pants down and what he revealed was rather paltry, even if you don't compare it with what might have been. If they're going to make a big deal out of their private island, they could at least make an effort to build it up to match the hype.

2) Since you failed to foresee that at least one of us would react this way, you are therefore a failed prophet and should be stoned to death after your body is raked up from the ashes of your immolation.

I have received and processed 7 peoples' worth of photos so far. I have no idea on how many I am gonna get, but I do know that I have at a few more sets coming.
No other video so far besides mine. I've got the first hour of each of Dr. Shermer's and Bancheck's talks. They spoke longer, but the memory card can only hold so much and I didn't think to get two memory cards. I didn't finally find a place that sold the camera that I used until the morning of the our embarkation. So, the last few minutes of each are lost. But, some (or most, even) is better than none.
Besides Dr Shermer and Banachek giving their lectures, I have some clips that I shot while riding a parasail. Think anyone would want those on the DVD? I guess it would show what the view is like for someone who wants to know but will never try it themselves? I don't know.

Well for what a private island CAN be, check out Petit St. Vincent (PSV) resort in the Grenedines. A fellow Vermonter and friend helped establish that place and it's probably something you and Mrs. Beady would love. Just the opposite of CocoCay. Of course the price is a tad steep- what you paid for the cruise would cover less than a day on PSV! Minimum stay is a week I believe. (And no, I most certainly did not spend a week there myself- just an "under the radar" half day visit.)

Hopefully things will rebound soon.
Don't misunderstand, it's actually a good thing. 12 years ago, I lost my job three days after we moved into this house and MB lost hers six months later. It was a brand-new house, so we didn't have to do anything towards upkeep for a considerable period, which is the only reason we survived the subsequent six or seven years (at one point we had five jobs between the two of us). Now, though, the need for repairs has caught us up, and several things need doing at once (roof, carpeting, etc). The good part is that all these expenses are arriving at the very moment we can finally afford them.

Why not speak to SkepticScott about selling this bloody piece of travesty-because-I-wasn't-able-to-be-there at TAM5?
I am sure I can move quite a lot of copies at the Book Table. That's really up to Linda and ScottH. There was a problem when I sold the TAM2 picture CDs at TAM3. I sold them at cost ($0.50), and the "JREF Radio Show" CDs were also on sale there. As a result some people were charged $0.50 for the JREF CDs, instead of the correct price.

CFLarsen,
How many copies do you think would be wise to produce for sale at TAM?

I just nominated this post for the VLE award. Very Liberal Exaggeration.
Hugs Boo, just the same.
No, really. Susan is gorgeous.

Not more than 20.
If you want this to go through the book table, you'll have to square it with Linda first.
If you want to run it on your own, you can set up a small table in the foyer.

More on the Photo DVDs of the cruise......
The last of the stragglers got their photos in. Pre-production samples have been sent to speaking guests. Those have been approved. The DVD masters have been burned (4 DVDs, full!). And, just got access to the replicator.
Everyone on the cruise should have recieved their address verification emails, by now. If you haven't, PM me.
Almost done.

I wasn't very in the mood for all things JREF Forum in the time frame leading up to and shortly after the Cruise so I never happened upon this thread. While looking for some Adam, Jamie or Kari photos from TAM4 I happened upon this one and read just about every message and checked out almost every photo.
It was an hour and a half of my life well spent, and means the next 7 hours at work will be spent whistfully dreaming of what might have been had I not been such a petulent s***head.
