Could be a reflection on glass, hard to tell. Anyone ever been inside St. Peter's basilica in Rome?

Missed this. I've been there. Behind that huge bronze canopy is a very large swirling carving in pale marble. I think this video shows a splash of light from a window illluminating part of this carving.

Looks to me like the guy in red is holding something (a jacket?) up on the end of a pole. Probably a tourist guide trying to keep his group together.

It cannot be, because on a later clip the "ghost" has moved to the left of the church and is further away.

My immediate thought was like Jaggy's, that somebody was holding something at the end of a pole. Nobody was looking at the apparition because to the visitor who were present, it was quite ordinary.

You're right. I must admit I didn't watch the clip all the way to the end, and jumped to conclusions from the first freeze-frame. But having seen it moving I'd have to agree with you both.
