I am looking for someone to speak in Santa Barbara, California about the perils of homeopathy. Date to be arranged but some time in the first half of 2007. The program might consist of just one speaker or we might have a pro and con speaker.

There might be a *small" payment possible.

Are you experienced in talking on this topic? Can you recommend someone who is?

PM me for more details. Yes, I have posted the same message on the Skeptics Society forum.

TIA.

Ideally you'd like someone such as Asolepius or David Colquhoun but they are UK based

Try posting this on the Healthfraud listserv:

Also, I checked the Quackwatch medical advisor board (http://www.quackwatch.org/09Advisors/medadvbd.html ) and it did include a couple of people in California. Including Wallace Sampson who recently write this article:

Good luck.

Thanks, Hydrogen_Cyanide for the suggestions...I will follow up. My delayed response is due to some vacation time out.

If that doesn't work, just dip a normal speaker into a very large body of water.

I am looking for someone to speak in Santa Barbara, California about the perils of homeopathy. If you want some no-nothing to say it is perilous because it doesn't work, haha, yada yada, that won't take very long. Doesn't really justify paying someone to do it.

OTOH, if you want someone to explain that a poorly chosen or dosed remedy can create aggravations in a person, then you will need someone very skilled in homeopathy to explain it accurately.

You know there was a study into aggravations. No evidence was found of them which is kinda fortunate for homeopaths because if they had been it would have been even harder for homeopaths to justfy not going through proper drug lisenceing procedures.

If you want some no-nothing .....

Well THAT seems to be a very accurate description of homeopathy from a a "know-nothing"!
