Hi all,

To my disgust I noticed that the Swedish channel TV4 fakta (TV4 facts) are going to show the loose change movie on the 11:th of September.

I urge any of you to please post your reactions to this on the contact form located at:
http://www.tv4.se/omtv4/420218.html

Thanks.

Sorry for waking up such an old thread, but I DID send a complaint to TV4 Fakta back in the day, having no idea about this. It amuses me greatly in retrospect, as the person who answered my mail seemed a tad on the defensive. "So what's wrong with showing this side of it when everyone else is showing what really happened?!" he bellowed.

I don't really get the argument. Essentially, he's saying that "This channel, called Blah Blah FACTS, is showing a bunch of ill edited lies because all the other channels are showing what really happened."

Try getting that "argument" to sound reasonable and logical...

What replies did you guys receive?

I couldn't find the original reply (typed format c: recently and it probably got lost in the process) but if I remember correctly it was something along the lines of: "we value you opinion... yada yada yada...", pretty neutral and not really saying anything. Not anything like the reply you got.

But for what its worth at least they seem to have gotten a few complaints about it, I wonder how much they care about them though.

Anyway, my first post here, though I have been lurking for a while, Hi everybody!

Hi everybody!

Ditto!

ETA: I really shouldn't be allowed to post until I finish my first pot of coffee. No really, welcome aboard!

Unfortunately I had problems with their response site and had to retype the message three times and forgot to include my email address on that attempt . It was in a separate field. so no response.

Too bad- if the replies had been from that same guy, I suppose we'd been entertained. But yes, I'm happy to know they got a few complaints.

I had a friend who watched it and got very agitated. Fortunately, he calmed down once I had time to sit down and point out a few of the creative edits in that program. I sent him off to http://screwloosechange.blogspot.com/ to dig out the rest.

Too bad I didn't notice this thread beforehand though.

Thanks mortimer.

muckarduva: Yeah, lets hope it made some impression on someone at least.

I would like to call to the Swedish skeptics attention that the "online newspaper written 24/7 by its readers", Sourze.se, seems to be favouring 911 conspiracy theories. Its editors must love them, because they let any piece of crap article through, as long as it's based on conspiracy fantasies.

Then again I have no idea if the site is at all influential nowadays. To me, it's just a highway to an aneurysm.

Mmmm, Danish DR2 sent an edit of it some time back, basically cutting the crap and just showing the claims. As that finished, I guess my pulse was at some 150, but then the feature continued, and they proceeded to take it apart, bit for bit, last word being given to a psychologist who tried to explain what made conspiracy theorists tick.

That was really nice going :D.

In Denmark, the original monopoly channel DR1 (and its subsidiary DR2) do the skeptic matter, and the semi-commercial TV2 does the woo .
