Greeks and flat earth

James Randi quoted someone in his commentary as stating that the Greeks believed the world was flat...

That specific issue was not addressed, but I found this interesting article, which points out that not only did the Greeks know it, but it was also well-known in the middle ages despite legend to the contrary.

I thought some might find it of interest.

Thanks for the link Gnome. I had pretty much understood that the old mythology about Columbus contesting the flat earth believers was false, but your link provided some new and interesting info on the subject.
