That's what I was going for, Orphia. The whole moon-hoax thing is so obviously wacky I didn't feel it needed much debunking. So I thought I'd do it from the POV of a believer.
In other musical news, I've been rehearsing the Twoofer version of "The Boxer" and would be more than happy to record it. ;)
And, Orphia, why is your breast winking at me? I'm a married man.

Oh, man! You beat me to it! I was trying to think of something for that one, too!
All I could come up with was the chorus: Lie lie lie. Lie lie lie lie lie lie lie.
ETA: If you want to record it, send the vocals to me. I promise I won't take 6 months this time.

Thanks! I was quite happy with the way it turned out in the end. There was only one disappointment for me - the original lyrics I wrote were from the perspective of the narrator criticizing the current LC forum members, and the first line you quoted was, originally, "'cos you feel so important there". I really liked that line and it was a shame I couldn't work it into the final song.
I suppose the "you" could me misinterpreted, too.
Yes. That, and the fact that a lot of people suffered and died on 9/11. It feels a bit wrong to be making fun of anything to do with it, even if it is just the troofers. I just need to remind myself of why we are here - to defend the real truth from the delusional truth. Some people respond better to ridicule than reason.
Yes, there is that underlying seriousness that must be at least touched upon.
I've been working on that aspect of it. The problem it trying to get stuff to rhyme! I find that Moon conspiracy claims are easier to rhyme than 9/11 ones.
For example, this piece I've been working on which is a parody of Don McLeans "Vincent" (Starry Starry Night).
A starry, starry sky.
Would be proof that Apollo was fake.
Because you can't see the stars in space,
When you're standing in the daylight on The Moon.
Still a lot of lyrics to go, though!
Fantastic start!!! :) Great!
I've written a couple of parodies which I scrapped for that very reason. I like the Man on the Moon song but a believer could also claim it as a song supporting them. The sarcasm is, to me, quite obvious, but CTers seem to have a problem with that kind of thing - Look at the LC forums response to the 9/11 South Park episode. Some of them, including Mr. Avery himself, thought it was a good thing!
I know! I had quotes from Matt Stone (on Penn Jillette's show) and Dylan Avery in my signature for a while. I also posted them in the South Park thread.
I wonder if any of them have listened to this stuff. In particular, I wonder if Killtown heard the Killtown song. :D
Yes, I wonder. I'm between bannings at the LCF (i.e. Banned) or I'd post it there for him to see. Unless he's suspended again for his no-plane stance.
That's what I was going for, Orphia. The whole moon-hoax thing is so obviously wacky I didn't feel it needed much debunking. So I thought I'd do it from the POV of a believer.
Sorry, John. I've got a sore spot about Moon Hoax believers since my hubby voiced a few doubts himself last year a couple of times. I shot his arguments down in flames both times, and he hasn't mentioned it again, but then, he hasn't totally admitted he was wrong, either. For his part, he thinks conspiracy theories such as 9/11 are BS, though. He is a sweetie, but that episode drove me nuts!
In other musical news, I've been rehearsing the Twoofer version of "The Boxer" and would be more than happy to record it. ;)
Yay!
And, Orphia, why is your breast winking at me? I'm a married man.
My boob winked because you probably shouldn't have been looking, should you? ;)

Regarding the serious side of 9/11, and using comedy to make a point, watch 'Life is Beautiful'.
I never thought anything about what Jews went through in Nazi concentration camps could be seen on a lighter note, but this film is amazing in capturing the tragedy, and still being incredibly funny through most of it.
I avoided it for years because it was advertised as a comedy about the concentration camps, which doesn't do it any justice for the points it makes and the way it tackles the subject. When I finally saw a scene that didn't match what I had been led to believe, I watched it, and it is now one of my most treasured dvds.

I thought I'd try a more positive spin.. instead of attacking, celebrating the JREF.
Tune: "Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)" by Edison Lighthouse
I'm a clever fella
But I gotta tell ya
I don't buy conspiracy
Oh, the truth grows where the JREFer goes
And no one debunks like me
Some people get lazy
When folks start talkin' crazy
But that style just ain't for me
Oh, the truth grows where the JREFer goes
And no one debunks like me
There's something about the JREFer mind
It's the critical kind
And it just makes you say, "Hey!"
We really give conspiracists hell
And we do it so well
That they just run away
I'm a clever fella
And I gotta tell ya
Bigfoot couldn't ever be
Oh, the truth grows where the JREFer goes
And no one debunks like me
There's something about the JREFer mind
It's the critical kind
And it just makes you say, "Hey!"
We really give conspiracists hell
And we do it so well
That they just run away
I'm a clever fella
And I gotta tell ya
UFOs just ain't for me
Oh, the truth grows where the JREFer goes
And no one debunks like me
Spread those facts everywhere I go
No one debunks like me
If you debate me, you're liable to hate me
No one debunks like me
ETA: I never realized how repetitive that song is...

This one just wrote itself...
(tune: Simon and Garfunkel's "The Boxer")
Dylan's just a poor boy, and his story's seldom told
He lives out in Oneonta, tried to get into the film school, showed no promise there
He lies and jests
He's a man who hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest
When he left his home and his family, he was no more than a boy
In the company of Jason, in the quiet of the railway station running scared
Laying low, seeking out the poorer quarters where the wacky people go
Looking for the places no JREFer knows
("lie-la-lie" part goes here)
Asking only workman's wages, he went looking for a job but he got no offers
Just a come-on from that wacky Prison Planet dude
I do declare, it appears that he was so lonesome he took some comfort there
("lie-la-lie" part goes here)
On the corner stands a Troofer, he's a fighter for his cause
But he carries the reminders, of that debunk that laid him out
And cut him till he cried out, in his anger and his shame
I am leaving, I am leaving, but the Troofer still remains...
("lie-la-lie" part, to end)
Here ya go, Qarnos. Any input is welcome.. :)

Move over, Simon and Garfunkel, and make room for:
Qarnos and Jhunter
We may not have the vocal stylings and musicianship of the former, but we have... well... not much. But we did record this song:
Qarnos and Jhunter - The Bollocks-er (http://www.mediamax.com/qarnos)

Awesome!! :) :) :)
I almost have a soft spot for Dylan after hearing that. Something about the detailed guitar playing, the lyrics and the lovely voice made me go all wistful and mellow towards him. Poor screwed-up kid.

I'd like to add something a bit more poignant, mostly because I've hit one of my many levels with these insipid conspiracy morons. Alex Baker's songs have links scattered through the lyrics, and I thought I'd make a couple of additions of my own. So here's my version of "Blown to Kingdom Come" with some more appropriate links:

EMT (To the tune of AC/DC's TNT)
Oi! Oi! (etc)
I rode in from the sunset
On Dylan's computer screen.
He didn't know who I really was;

Truthers to the left of me
And truthers to the right.
I'm a smoking gun.
I'm the light of their life.
I'm their shining knight.

EMT. You know I'm right!
EMT. What would JREFers know?
EMT. I saw seven implode!
I'm dirty, mean, and like Charlie Sheen,
I'm a crazy man.
I'm just using them for some fun.
Understand?
So lock up your daughter.
Lock up your wife.
Lock up your back door,
And run for your life.
The man is back in town.
So don't you mess around...
I'm Mike the EMT. It was dynamite.
EMT. You know I'm right!
EMT. What would JREFers know?

Okay, so I finally got around to talking some musician types into playing, singing and recording the parody I wrote a while back (http://forums.randi.org/showpost.php?p=1996535&postcount=123) to the tune of Piano Man by Billy Joel, and they are now finishing it up. Tomorrow, I will have a cd of the recording.
So, my question is this: how do I convert it from cd to mp3 (or whatever other format I should be converting it to) and then how/where do I upload it to the internet so that I can share it here?
In the meantime, I will also take this opportunity to repeat the links to the excellent musical works that have been created in this thread for the benefit of those who haven't heard them yet, and for the benefit of those who have but who want to hear them again :) :

Okay, so I finally got around to talking some musician types into playing, singing and recording the parody I wrote a while back (http://forums.randi.org/showpost.php?p=1996535&postcount=123) to the tune of Piano Man by Billy Joel, and they are now finishing it up. Tomorrow, I will have a cd of the recording.
So, my question is this: how do I convert it from cd to mp3 (or whatever other format I should be converting it to) and then how/where do I upload it to the internet so that I can share it here?
To rip from CD to MP3, you should first try audiograbber (http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/). I haven't used it in years but it was quite user-friendly, IIRC.

How about a Duh bunker Musical? You already have a song where the lyrics don't need changing...
I could while away the hours
Conferrin' with the flowers
Consultin' with the rain
And my head, I'd be scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain.
I'd unravel ev'ry riddle
For any individ'le
In trouble or in pain
With the thoughts you'd be thinkin'
You could be another Lincoln,
If you only had a brain.
Oh, I could tell you why
The ocean's near the shore,
I could think of things I never thunk before
And then I'd sit and think some more.
I would not be just a nuffin'
My head all full of stuffin'
My heart all full of pain.
I would dance and be merry
Life would be a ding-a-derry
If I only had a brain--Whoa!

Pull It
(with apologies to Devo)
Light that fuse.
Leave behind no clues.
Step on a crack.
Break your mother's back.
When a problem comes along.
You must pull it.
Before the lease goes on too long.
You must pull it.
When something's going wrong.
You must pull it.
now pull it.
to the ground.
shake it down.
get straight.
go forward.
move ahead.
they won't detect it.
it's not too late.
to pull it.
pull it good.
When a good time turns around.
You must pull it.
You will never live it down.
Unless you pull it.
No one gets their way.
Until they pull it.
I say pull it.
Pull it good.
And from http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?p=2901573#post2901573 (with updated spelling):
Clunkity-Clunk
(with apologies to The Coasters)
Put on your hat and cape of black
Then order NORAD to stand back
If there's no terrorist attack
You won't get to invade Iraq
Clunkity-clunk (don't talk bunk)
Go get some thermite and C4
And plant them in the towers' core
Make sure to wire every floor
Or you don't get to go to war
Clunkity-clunk (don't talk bunk)
Now find some new technology
To show fake airplanes on TV
Fake phone calls too, 'cause that would be
Propitious to our policy
Clunkity-clunk (don't talk bunk)
Now get down to the Pentagon,
And plant those light poles on the lawn
They won't see where the plane has gone
So tell the press it crashed head-on
Clunkity-clunk (don't talk bunk)
Clunkity-clunk, Clunkity-clunk
Clunkity-clunk, Clunkity-clunk
Clunkity-clunk, Clunkity-clunk
Clunkity-clunk, Clunkity-clunk

I think this is a melancholic song...
Troof Oddity
Planet Earth to Troofer Boy
Planet Earth to Troofer Boy
Drop your happy pills and take your tinfoil off
Planet Earth to Troofer Boy
Commencing crackdown, turn brain on
Check reception and may our love be with you
Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one, crackdown
This is Planet Earth to Troofer Boy
You should really make this step
And the Loosers want to know for who you care
Now it's time to leave the movement if you dare
This is Troofer Boy to Planet Earth
I'm leaving the frontdoor
And I'm breathing in a most peculiar way
And the air smells so refreshing today
For here
Am I sitting in a basement
Far beneath the world
The government is bad
And I think I have been had
Though I'm past one hundred thousand claims
I'm feeling very lame
But I think my movement knows which way to go
Tell my mum I love her very much, she knows
Planet Earth to Troofer Boy
Your brain's dead, there's something wrong
Can you hear me, Troofer Boy?
Can you hear me, Troofer Boy?
Can you hear me, Troofer Boy?
Can you hear....
Here am I sitting with my tin foil
The basement of my mum
The government is bad
And I think I have been had

Stuck In The Middle
Well I'm searching om the youtube tonight,
I see a video where something ain't right,
It's so obvious I fall off my chair,
And I'm wondering who I'll tell that will care,
Bermas to the left of me,
Korey to the right, here I am,
Stuck in the middle with you.
Yes I'm stuck in the middle with you,
So I make a movie then a part two,
It's so hard to keep this smile from my face,
Thanks to Google, I'm all over the place,
Bermas to the left of me,
Korey to the right,
Here I am, stuck in the middle with you.
Well I started out with nothing,
And I'm proud that I'm a self made man,
And my fans, they all come crawlin,
Slap me on the back and say,
Please.... Please.....
(release the final cut)
Trying to make some sense of floor plans,
But I can see that they make no sense at all,
Is it cool to leave these shirts at the door,
'Cause I don't think that I can sell anymore
Bermas to the left of me, Korey to the right,
Here I am, stuck in the middle with you.
Well I started out with nothing,
And I'm proud that I'm a self made man,
And my fans, they all come crawlin,
Slap me on the back and say,
Please.... Please.....
(release the FINAL CUT!!!
Well I don't know where they all are tonight,
I got the feeling that something ain't right,
tens of thousands should be showing their face,
But they've all vanished, gone with no trace ,
Bermas to the left of me,
Korey to the right, here I am,
Stuck in the middle with you,
Yes I'm stuck in the middle with you,
Stuck in the middle with you.
I will actually record this if someone will sing it

made a post in seconds flat
found my way downstairs and had a smoke,
Avery spoke and I went into a dream....
I dread the Jews today oh boy
Four thousand stayed away from work that day
And though the Jews were all at home

What I hate about Jews
They hold the world real tight.
Seems like I'm the only one
Willing to put up a fight.
Voices whispering in my ear
Tell me all the things that I've come to fear
World Order new --
That's what I hate about Jews.
What I hate about Jews
Guys like me have no chance,
Make me flunk right out of school
Keep me from a real romance.
Voices keep whispering in my ear
"9/11's a Zionist plot, my dear."
And it's true!
That's what I hate about Jews.
Hey uh uh huh...
What I hate about Jews
I had a brain storm last night --
The Holocaust was just a show
Barrett told me so it must be right!
Voices keep whispering in my ear,
"They poisoned your water, now you're turning queer"
It's not true!
That's what I hate about Jews...
That's what I hate about Jews...
That's what I hate about Jews...

Tune: "Love Is All Around" by Wet Wet Wet (from "Four Weddings And A Funeral")
I feel it in my fingers
I feel it in my toes
The truth is all around me
And so the feeling grows
They're written on the wind
Those crappy videos
So if you're really thinking
Come on and let them go
Chorus:
You know they're stupid, they always are
That Dylan A, wants to be a star
But from beginning, right to the end
You know his claims
He can't defend
I see the Gravy paper
As I lay on my bed
I kinda get to thinking
'Bout all the things he said
I listen to some Hardfire
Read Ryan Mackey too
It's really quite apparent
That Twoofer stuff ain't true..
(repeat chorus)
It's written on the wind, oh
A crappy video
So if you're really thinking, thinking, thinking
Come on and let it go
Come on and let it go

If you can just get your lines together
and then follow along with me
We'll look for flashes on a
shiny high-rise
'n wonder what it is we see.
But first,
are you delirious?
Have you ever been delirious?
Well...
I have.
I know, I know
You'll probably scream and cry
that two little planes made those big holes
But who in your measly group of shills are you trying to prove that
the footage they showed is the truth we're owed?
Ohh, but are you delirious?
Have you ever been delirious?
We-he-hell!
I have....
Uh, let me prove it to you...
[insert guitar solo consisting of soloist mouthing the "LIHOP-MIHOP" song through a talkbox, connected to a cheezy Danelectro reverse delay pedal]
Killtown and Judy Woods I can, uh, hear in the distance
I think they're calling our name
Maybe now you can't hear them, but you could
if your brain was made out of sand...
Ohh, but are you delirious?
Have you ever been delirious?
Not necessarily stoned, but pitiful...

As an aside "love is all arround me" was originally by The Troggs, (of "wild thing" fame). Reg Presley, Troggs front man, who wrote the song is a major UFO woo, and used most of his royalties from Wet Wet Wet's ridiculously successful cover to fun crop circle "research" / useless trivia.

now I know why I'm not a drummer. Stuck in the middle might take a few.
One of the reasons I'm not a drummer is because I've seen Bill Bruford, Pat Mastelotto, Mike Mangini, Chad Wackerman, and Terry Bozzio each play in clubs that only held about 150 people. That's not terribly far removed from watching Chopin giving piano lessons to 7 year-olds. Quite the humbling experience for a musician.

What would Osama Bin Laden do
If he were here right now?
He’d blame everything on the Jews,
That’s what Osama Bin Laden would do.
I’m sure the poor guy’s innocent
Of sending people to their graves.
How could an Arab like him have done it
While living in a cave?
And terrorists don’t really exist
Cause Barrett tells me so.
So it must have been a false-flag op
Done by the NWO.
It's great to live within a world
Where you never think things through.
All you have to do is hate a Jew
That’s what Osama Bin Laden would do.
I just want the girls to notice me
That’s why I hang with Dylan, Jase, and Corey.
While I just want my mom
To stop finding all my porn
So I’ll pretend to be an activist too
Cause that’s what Osama Bin Laden would do.
So come on boys let’s have some fun
And join the Loose Change crew

Stuck In The Middle's drums, rythym and solo complete (kinda. Ironing out the rythym right now)
Now I gotta see if I can work my magic on J's vocals.

I made this along time ago for another thread - but it's much more appropriate in this one! Of course to the tune of Do You Hear the People Sing from Les Mis.
"Do You Hear the Twoofers Sing?"
AVERY
Do you hear the twoofers sing?
Singing a song of angry men?
It is the ************ of a forum
Which will never think again!
When the coldness of your heart
Echoes the void between your ears
From sanity we thus depart
Cuz' Final Cut nears!
BERMAS
Will you join my foolish quest?
Who will be wrong and lie with me?
Beyond the LCF
Is there a world you fail to see?
ROWE
Then join in the fight
That will give you the right to be mean!
ALL
Do you hear the twoofers sing?
Singing a song of angry men?
It is the ************ of a forum
Which will never think again!
When the coldness of your heart
Echoes the void between your ears
From sanity we thus depart
Cuz' Final Cut nears!
AVERY
Will you pay all you can pay
So that my wallet may grow large?
Disagree, we call you "gay"
The truth is yours for a small charge!
The blood of the victims
Will pay for my widescreen TV!
ALL
Do you hear the twoofers sing?
Singing a song of angry men?
It is the ************ of a forum
Which will never think again!
When the coldness of your heart
Echoes the void between your ears
From sanity we thus depart
Cuz' Final Cut nears!

Since this venerable thread is back on the front page, I thought it appropriate to write a summary post of the links to the songs that have have been recorded to date for those who haven't heard them yet. And I hope that other terrific lyric contributions will find their way to recordings soon! The talent pool here at JREF is incredible!
The song that Mercutio started it all with so well (with vocals by Jhunter and mixing by Greyleonard), Reviewing the Situation, is here:

This one is Loose Change Forums, with apologies to America's "Ventura Highway", by Qarnos:

This one by Qarnos and Jhunter speaks for itself:
The Bollocks-er (http://www.mediamax.com/qarnos)

http://www.brodski.homechoice.co.uk/...HonOurSide.mp3 (http://www.brodski.homechoice.co.uk/truthmusic/WithTRUTHonOurSide.mp3)
My own modest contribution (although all I did was write parody lyrics of Billy Joel's "Piano Man" and re-title it Truth Seekers and get others to play the instruments and sing the vocals) is here:

SUBTERRANEAN TRUTHER BLUES
Willie's in the basement, mixing up his memories
I'm on the pavement
Thinkin' 'bout the government
Man on YouTube, bonged out, laid off
Says it was a black op
Everybody's paid off
Look out kid, it's somethin' they did
God knows how, but we'll figure it somehow
You better sign up with Avery
Make some wacky new friends
The man with the bullhorn rap
About the UN
Nine eleven, dollar bills
T-shirts? We sold ten
Dylan comes fleet foot
Film full of gobbledygook
Talkin' that the heat put
Bombs in the towers, but
Phone calls faked anyway
Alex says that many say
They sacrifice kids anyway
Orders from the CIA
Look out kid, don't matter what you did
To sound like you're still sane
Don't try "No Planes"
Better slander all those
That operate a fire hose
Mock the real pros
Pyroclastic flows
You don't need an engineer
To know which way a blast blows
Get sick, blame Jews
Get your friends to peer review
Google, hard to tell
If DVDs are goin' to sell
Read NIST, get pissed
Get stoned, derail
Convince 'em it was Israel
Call 'em sheeple if you fail
Look out kid, you're gonna get hit
By truthers, cheaters, big-time losers
Holocaust deniers
New World Order lookin' for a new war
Don't follow leaders
Ignore al-Qaeda
Ahh thermite, thermate, Steve Jones, airfones
Molten steel, "small fires", big liars
Don't go on Hardfire
Blame her, blame him, talk junk
All crap, all bunk
Twenty years of schoolin' and you came up with "clunkety clunk"
Look out kid, they keep it all hid
Better show your conviction, polish up your diction
Don't make predictions
Ignore the contradictions
Don't wanna be a shill
Take the red pill
Debunk don't work, cos the fiction's an addiction

There is a house in New York State
It's home to the Chosen One
And it's been inhabited by many a poor boy
Bermas and Avery are some
His mother posts at his forum
She says that she is proud
That he accused the government
With a black shirt laden crowd
Now the only thing this prophet needs
Is a laptop and a mouse
And the only time he's satisfied
Is when checks come to his house
------ organ solo ------
Oh mother tell your children
Nine eleven, an inside job
Spend your lives on youtube and google
and join my online mob
Well, I got one foot in the cradle
The other foot in the grave
I'm goin' back to Old Manhattan
Unless, of course, it rains
Well, there is a house in New York State
It's home to the Chosen One
And it's been the ruin of many a career
His movie days, they're done

I dedicated a rewrite of Macavity from Cats to Judy Wood and her wackiness, as a suggestion for the name of Bell's new NWO kitty. I suppose the song makes more sense in this thread.
Mactravisty's a clever cat, she's called the Woody Paw
For she's a master scientist who re defines the law
She's the bafflement of MIT, the Cambridge Dons' despair
For when they ask for credentials Mactravisty's not there!
Mactravisty, Mactravisty, there's no one like Mactravisty
She's redefined all science law, rewrote the law of gravity
Her powers of dustification would make a SpaceBeam stare
And when you ask for credentials Mactravisty's not there!
You may seek out robust science, you may search review by peer
But I tell you once and once again Mactravisty's not there!
(Note, it's not the entire song)

Scene: The faculty board, Brigham Young University, where Professor Steven E. Jones is having his future employment options outlined. To the tune of "Goodbye Mr. A", by The Hoosiers.
There's a hole in your paper,
You go on about thermite,
And controlled demolition,
And expect us to buy it.
Goodbye Dr. J,
You thought you could convince us it was common sense,
Goodbye Dr. J,
You had all the theories but no evidence,
You say it was thermite,
But we're not that dense,
You would have done better
To tell it to Rense.
So busy saying how NIST was wrong,
You forgot to switch your brain back on,
Your molten iron is not so hot,
It should be peer reviewed but you forgot .
Goodbye Dr. J,
You thought you could convince us it was common sense,
Goodbye Dr. J,
You had all the theories but no evidence,
You thought your results proved
Conspiracies new,
But wouldn't submit them
To proper review.
Goodbye Dr. J,
Please return your ID card and keys to the Dean,
Goodbye Dr. J,
If you want to publish, start your own magazine,
Goodbye Dr. J,
You thought you could convince us it was common sense,
Goodbye Dr. J
You had all the theories but no evidence.
It's time to retire now,
So walk out the door,
You once had a job here,
But not any more.

The song of the rather confused truther. To the tune of "Chasing Cars", which I hope nobody's already done.
We'll prove it all,
Everything,
In good time.
We don't need
Any facts
Or evidence.
If I just lie,
If I just lie now,
Would you believe me and simply take my word?
I don't quite know
How to prove
An inside job.
On J-REF
They say too much
For me to cope.
If I lie more,
If I just lie more,
Would you believe me and simply take my word?
Forget what you've seen
And what all those facts mean,
Just show me an Arab that's hiding in a cave.
Don't waste time
Finding facts
To prove our case.
The FBI,
The CIA,
They always lie.
If I tell lies,
If I tell big lies,
Would you believe me and simply take my word?
Ignore your own ears,
And structural engineers.
Show me a building that's blasted into dust.
All that I think,
All that I ever say,
Is taken from Loose Change, or maybe DRG.
I don't know why
Nobody believes me yet,
Just know that these things can never be debunked at all.
If I tell lies,
Flaming great huge lies,
Would you believe me and simply take my word?

I have had this tune and lyrics buzzing around my head while I have been driving around at work for the last few weeks, and it always eludes me when I get home and on the computer...until tonight.
Here is my contribution, with appologies to Steely Dan, to 9-11 The Musical
(along with the original song, Youtube style, for anyone not familiar with the tune.)
Dr Wu by Steely Dan (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofhDF9ltv0M)
Judy Woo - To the tune of Doctor Wu by Steely Dan
Fetzer Lied
And got halfway crucified.
Now he's on the other side
Of no tomorrow.
You walked in
And the trooth began again
Just when I'd spent the last trooth-buck
I could borrow.
All night long
He would sing that stupid song
And every word he sang
We knew was trooooooth.
Are you kidding Judy Woo?
Are you really just the shadow
Of a crackpot we once knew?
Are you crazy, are you high,
Or just a troother for that guy?
What has gotten into you?
Are you kidding Doctor?
(Saxophone solo interlude)
Don't seem right.
I've been blogging here all night
I've been waiting for the facts
You said you'd bring to me.
Biscayne bay
Where the lizard overlords sleep all day.
I went searching for the trooth
You used to sing to me.
Fetzer lies.
You could see it in his eyes,
But imagine my surprise
When I saw you.
Are you kidding Judy Woo?
Are you really just a shadow
Of the gal that I once knew?
She was lovely, she was sly,
And now there's death rays in the sky...
What has gotten into you?
Can you hear me Doctor?
Are you kidding Doctor?
Can you hear me Doctor?
Are you kidding Doctor?
(Fade away.....)

BY ADMITING WHAT WE ALL SAW WAS ALL THERE IS TO VIEW
DRG IS TAKIN YOUR MONEY WHILE PUTTIN UP A SMOKE SCREEN
PARROTING DRG'S THEORIES AND YOU'LL ALL BE IN BELLVIEW
DRG IS AWAITING ON YOU ALL TO PONY UP MORE GREEN
YOU DON'T NEED NO HOLOGRAMS
YOU DON'T NEED NO STAND DOWNS
YOU DON'T NEED A TOMAHAWK MISSILE AT A CRASH SCENE
BEFORE YOU CAN TRUST IN COMMON SENSE
IF YOU WISE UP FROM THE START
YOU'LL SEE DRG DEALS IN COTTAGE INDUSTRY MARKS
ALWAYS WAS AND WILL BE SAME
DRG WILL STILL BE TRYING TO BE RELEVANT
BY ABIDING BY OCCAM'S RAZOR YOU'LL BE SANE
DRG CAN'T BE CONING YOU WITH APPARENT EASE
BY ADIDING BY OCCAM'S RAZOR YOU'LL BE FREE
DRG CAN'T BE CONING YOU WITH APPARENT EASE
YOU DON'T NEED NO THERMITE
YOU DON'T NEED NO MOLTEN STEEL

A recent lament at the sheer bulk of CT threads turning DU's September 11th forum into a "CT Ghetto" inspired this:
In The Ghetto
As the snow flies
On a cold and gray September mornin'
A poor little CT thread is born
In the ghetto
And the movement cries
'cause it's hard to be a mindless chump
with another empty thread to bump
In the ghetto
People, don't you understand
the thread needs a helping hand
or it'll drop down the memory hole some day
Take a look at you and me,
are we too smart to see,
do we recognize answers
and look the other way
Well the world turns
and a silly little thread with a lack of facts
drops down as the principal quote retracts
In the ghetto
And its bias confirms
so it starts to move goalposts at night
and it appeals to fear
and it learns how to fight
In the ghetto
Then one night in desperation
the theory breaks away
It chases a camera, shouts and screams,
and gets fifty hits on the YouTube streams
And the movement cries
As a crowd derides the clueless kids
who walk right past where logic forbids
In the ghetto
As illusion dies,
on a cold and gray September mornin',
another little CT thread is born
In the ghetto
Sorry, Elvis.

I originally did this as a Dr Seuss type story, but Chillzero thinks it should go here:
In the town of Wooville all were asleep.
With nothing to Woo about they made not a peep.
They had talked of psychics, Bigfoot and dowsers,
But were bored with these and began to pick flowers.
When suddenly, from the land of Twoof,
Arrived words that made them hit the roof.
They stopped doing whatever woos do,
And went to hear this woo that was new.
It wasn’t just evidence that could be done by any boob,
It was pictures strung together and put on Youtube.
It was far more interesting than searching pockets for lint,
It was exposing wrongdoings and an evil Gubmint.
Expounding a twoof with a 'tude so smarmy.
Ideas so silly they feather and tar me.
There was no demand of Woos to have knowledge of science,
All the Twoofers asked for was total compliance.
“You don’t have to read a book, or research on your own.
We’ll do it all for you and use a sarcastic tone.
All we need from you is to yell at events you can crash,
Punch a handicapped girl in the face and send us your cash.”
They were just asking questions and had a world to save,
They weren’t insulting survivors and pissing on a fireman’s grave.
There were scientist and experts who disputed their lies,
The Twoofers calmed the Woos with the usual replies.
“Science is wrong, and engineers are sick.
Didn’t you see our video with the cool music?
Who needs to be an expert in the relevant subjects?
When you have pictures and videos of shiny objects.”
At first the Woos were willing and eager to please,
But some began to have a feeling of unease.
“What if I ask a question and get an answer I don’t like?”
“Just yell louder than them, cause that will make you right.”
“Shouldn’t we take this to a judge or jury with a quorum?”
“No, you should preach to a choir on an internet forum.”
“I know a scientist with more than one college degree,
He says there is more to the world than just what we see.”
“We may not have degrees, but we have a degrot,
It tells not what we know, but what we know not.
There is one thing upon which there is a consensus,
You don’t need to use all of your senses.”
And so it will go on for about seven years,
The Twoofers will keep preying on all the Woos’ fears.
They’ll take from the Woos all that they can suck,
Every Woo nickel and every Woo buck.
Until one day when the Woos will have had enough,
They won’t want to buy videos or any more stuff.
They’ll start reasoning and get off the Woo train,
They’ll think for themselves and start using their brain.
They’ll get off the internet and leave their parents’ Wooville home,
Maybe get a job in an office with a desk lamp and a phone.
They’ll go to the library and get books off the shelves,
They’ll stop blaming the Gubmint for all their troubles and start blaming themselves.

Great stuff everyone, I think all the lyrics and especially the recordings are fantastic. I love all of them.
I do have one quibble, though. Without a doubt the very best track posted on this thread was done by Ace Baker. (Post #155.) It's a completely original composition. It's a superb piece of songwriting and recording. I think it's a bit surprising that no-one on this thread has acknowledged just how good it is.

Before you jump on me, I'm firmly in the debunker camp, and I think Ace's ideas are woo-woo central, but I wouldn't let that stand in the way of applauding musical talent when I see it.

edit: J H Hunter was the only one to nod that Ace's track was good. Fair play, Hunter.

Heh... I'd never actually heard that. I'm shocked at the quality!
He is obviously a very talented musician and producer. It's a shame he is throwing it all away chasing his own tail. Though at least he has the courage of his convictions, which is more than I can say for several other prominent truthers.

I know the Beatles' "Yesterday" has already been done in this thread -- but it's such a great song, so:
Avery
You’re no more than a joke to me.
“Free fall speed and controlled CD”
That’s funny stuff there, Avery.
Suddenly
Your little film “career” is history.
Chuck is gone and now so’s Rosie.
You’re poor and friendless, Avery.
Why they had to go
We all know
(Fame’s such a louse).
Now for a Loose Change show
You must go
To someone’s house.
So Avery
It’s time to chuck that bomb you call LC
“Loose change” now describes your salary.
Ain’t life a bitch, Avery?

Sorting out some old documents today, I came across some pieces for 9/11: The Musical I started so long ago I'd forgotten about them. I think I must have intended to do a little more work on them, but what's the point now?
So, without further ado, here are some songs for all those people leaving the Truth Movement.
Goodbye Paranoid Mob (With apologies to Elton John)
When are we gonna have facts?
When are we going to court?
I should have listened in class
I should have read through the NIST report
You know you can't go on forever
Repeating the same old lies
I'm tired of waiting for another story
It's long past time for this boy to get wise...
So goodbye paranoid mob
Where the dregs of society reign
You can't dress me in your t-shirts
I'm back to using my brain
Back to the basement of my parents' house
Possibly even a job
Oh I've finally decided my future lies
Beyond the paranoid mob...
What do you think you'll do then?
I betcha you'll go no-plane
It'll take you a couple of sock posts on JREF
To get you on your feet again
Maybe you'll get a replacement
There's many a gullible rube
Desperate for things to believe in
Sniffing to find the red pill, on YouTube...
So goodbye paranoid mob
Where the dregs of society reign
You can't keep me in your t-shirts
I'm back to using my brain
Back to the basement of my parents' house
Possibly even a job
Oh I've finally decided my future lies
Beyond the paranoid mob...
Thermite On Their Minds (With apologies to Weber and Rice)
My mind is clearer now
At last
All too well
I can say
Where we all
Went astray
If you strip away
The myths
From the rants
You will find
Where we all
Lost our minds
Dylan!
I've come to disbelieve
The things Loose Change implies
You're trying to deceive
With hearsay, guile, and lies
The editing you've done
Might sway a fool or two
But in the end you're just pretend
It's only about you
Listen, Dylan, call me one of the bots
But the truth is I've connected the dots
Bottom line is
We put down heroes and cause victims pain
And it just might be justified
If evidence were on our side
But for evidence we've searched in vain
I remember when this whole thing began
Uploading video, fighting 'the man'
And believe me
The hope for change today still burns as bright.
But when your fans support solutions,
That would involve mass executions
You've become the very thing you fight
Onetona's famous son
Should have stayed a great unknown
MySpace, rap, and slasher flicks
Should be his kicks
Black T-shirts and ugly mobs
Shouting about inside jobs
Just is not the life for me
Your fantasy!
Listen Dylan
I don't like what we've done
Sure, I had questions on nine-one-one
And remember
I've been against injustice all along
But you have set us all at odds
With tales of stand-downs, squibs and pods
And the evidence has proved you wrong
Listen Dylan, we've turned into deniers
Misquoting witnesses, calling them liars
When the truth is terrorists hijacked the planes and made them crash
All your followers are blind
Too much thermite on their minds
And I think you're in it for the cash
Ah --- ah ah ah -- ah
God, Dylan, it's about the cash
Now I've finally connected the dots
All about the cash
Ah --- ah
I've been against injustice
Come on, listen, listen to me
Ah --- ah

It's a shame that all of the links to the audio recordings are dead. They were really very well done. :(

After an exhaustive search through old hard drives and such, I was successful in locating my audio file of the "Truthseekers" song that I had posted previously, and I could upload it again if I knew where/how to host it to make it accessible. Do you still have copies of your awesome audio files that might be recoverable and re-postable? If so, that would be fantastic!

Awesome, greyleonard! That was the best of the best and I'm delighted to have the new link! The three of you did an amazing job at putting it together, and I'm happy to be able to hear it again (and this time, I'll save it in case the link goes dead again, as I've learned a few things since then).
(Secondarily, any suggestions on how to repost my own audio file since my link is dead? I have the original file but I don't know how/where to post it to make it accessible.)
