Anyone have any ideas on where would be a good place to meet up for anniversary? There's a bunch of construction going on down there and I really have no idea where the authorities are going to be putting the conspiracy crowd.
I don't think there's going to be that many of us, so I was thinking some Starbucks or something in the area to just get organized before we head over.
And yeah, I know it's a Monday, but if any JREFer here in the city can go in late to work or take an early lunch (or call in sick like me), your presence would be greatly appreciated.

some Starbucks or something in the area.
Seems like there are zillion starbucks, one on almost every block.
It might be better to pick something with fewer or just one location in the area, to avoid any possible confusion.
On Broadway, across from City Hall Park, is "Oliva Gourmet" which is a good casual place to get coffee and a bite to eat (if anyone's hungry), with seating available in the back.
This may be outside the security perimeter. (might be okay anyway?)
Other suggestions?

Yes. By all means, meet at the Empire State Building's Central Park entrance just on the other side of City Hall. Maybe you can meet at the Statue of Liberty up by 42nd Street. Then take the Brooklyn Bridge right over to Yankee Stadium.

I would *love* to be there, especially after viewing those cute little CT ragamuffin's comments regarding Abby's video.
I'm sure I could wangle a "diplomatic immunity" plea after melding some of the more obnoxious Troothers with the sidewalk.
Unfortunately, my Sturgis club chapter won't be able to make it. That would have been way cool. Everybody knows that you don't p*ss off a biker gang.

Don't think that this event will end up becoming a televised debate. As far as I know, the plan is to quietly handout flyers that debunk what the nutters are saying.
So even though I think you're probably selling yourself short, all you'll really need on Monday is one hand to hold the stuff and another to pass it out.

I read this post and my heart sank. It's easy to forget, whilst embroiled in this battle for rationality, that real people died on this very real day. Ordinary everyday people going about their ordinary everyday lives. People like you, me, and even Dylan Avery. I wonder what his take on this would be if one of his family or friends had perished is this horrible attack.

Here's the President's schedule as provided on Friday in the White House press briefing:
He will depart Sunday afternoon for New York. There will be a wreath-laying, commemorating the 5th anniversary of September 11, 2001, at Ground Zero on Sunday evening, and a service of prayer and remembrance at St. Paul's Chapel in New York. On Monday, breakfast with New York City first responders at a firehouse; also a moment of silence and a ceremony with New York City first responders in commemoration of September 11, 2001.

Well, if tutus are going to be the dress code, I just might show up. Can I bring my sombrero?

Yes, best wishes to all.
I think I'll just watch Abby's Video again to cheer me up.

I really wish that I could make it. I would take the day off from work but it is not possible this time :(
I do want to hear all about it and see the pics.

How often do conspiracy-debunkers visit Ground Zero? Does Ms. Scott still go there? I ask because I would like to interview some of you for a radio show. I may be visiting New York City this Saturday (the 16th), and would like to talk to folks in the street who challenge the conspiracists.
Will there be anyone there, or will the Eleventh tire everyone out?
