The punchline made me think of something else:
Girl Stick: Professor, that old man over there claims that the Internet is made of tubes!
Other stick: Well, some people have a hard time with complex technologies. They understand the results they get from it, but they don't really understand the inner workings of how it gets them what they want, or even what that technology can do for other people.
Girl Stick: But he's a US Senator -- in charge of regulating the Internet!
