Just wondering if anyone else is, as I am, a fan of Arcadi Volodos? I happened to turn on the radio a few years ago, just after the start of Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 3 and it was the most riveting performance. Until that time, having heard many pianists, my favourite was always Vladimir Ashkenazy. I'm afraid he had to be relegated to second place after I'd heard Volodos. I went with a friend to see him play a Prokofiev Piano Concerto at the Royal Festival Hall, and have bought quite a few of his CDs.
Actually, I must remember to look at his website again; but when I looked at it before I couldn't make haead nor tail of it.
