i have been seeing a lot of documentaries on various aspects of the 9/11 attacks in the last week (as i am sure many of you have) and it is so clear to me now how people can take so many accounts of the events out of context and really get excited about a CT. i have seen more witnesses say things like "i couldnt believe there was no plane, there was supposed to be a plane but there was just a hole." or "we heard explosions above us and the floors started coming down, one explosion after another" i am paraphrasing all this, but the point is, these things out of context sound very perplexing. of course, these shows were not made by Loosers, so they played the rest of the interviews where the people mention that "and then i found what was left of the plane, the debris was everywhere thruout the woods" or what the explosions came from, etc...but it would be so easy to not include that info and tell a really different tale.
on a side note, there were some really inspiring documentaries. a lot of really brave people died that day.

Yep, which is why anecdotal evidence without corroborating physical evidence is worth so little.

The Naudet brothers' documentary was show on CBS last night, uncut. I was absolutely glued. Hair stood up on my arms when the footage was shown of the firemen in the lobby of the North Tower hearing the South Tower collapse right next to them. The panic was all over their faces as they sprinted for the exit. And they had no idea what the hell was going on, because they were inside, so of course they were reporting explosions and other such noises.

The merry lill deniers will be analysing CNN's rerun on internet to death, to see what more evidence they can get, how many more people sayd they heard things go boom. Or that it did not look like an airplane. And start asking questions about all the other hijacked airplanes which wheren't mentioned ever again.
Who was behind it? Oh, I know! It was Hollywood. Who else has such experience with special effects? And a lot of people said it looked like a movie! And from there, we also finally have the first official whistleblower: Charlie Sheen. See, it all fits together.

The Naudet brothers documentary is intense. That horrible scene in the lobby, when you can hear the jumpers landing outside? The expressions of helplessness and horror on the faces of the firefighters/police officers are really, really hard to watch.

It also shows the difference between a true documentarist and the 3 stooges. The 3 stooges would have been up in the face of those burning people coming out of the elevators. Jules choose not to out of an inbred sense of what is ethical and what is not. He also choose not to film the jumpers.
But off cause the stooges and their following are crying cover up.

Everytime I see that documentary, and hear those people fall, my body shocks.
Have any of you seen the Naudet's follow-up documentary? It's about half an hour, and revisits the firefighters 5 years after the events. They still struggle with those horrific events, day after day. A lot suffer from survivor guilt. It's very sad.

I don't suppose you are talking about the extra footage on the dvd?
If not, the no. Would love to get my hands on it though.

That was included in last night's documentary.
Especially chilling was the firefighter who retired who said, "Why did I survive that day? What did I do wrong?"
Unselfishness personified.

No, it was on German TV last week, and on Dutch TV tonight. I don't know what the exact English title would be, but it translates to: 9/11, 5 years later.

Damn you NFL and your Manning vs. Manning scheduling! Damn you DirecTV and your NFL Sunday Ticket! Damn you all to hell for opening the season yesterday and making me miss (I didn't even know it was on!) the Naudet film... (slams head against desk, figures it may be time to finally get a Tivo)

I was actually watching the game, and switched over to CBS during a timeout. I never switched it back.
Of course, since you chose football over the 9/11 coverage, the terrorists have won. Sleep well.

Actually, that you still have the choice of football or 9/11 coverage is evidence that the terrorist have lost (or not yet won)!

I almost cried several times throughout the airing. I was glued. I didn't even get up to make dinner till it was done. Shows exactly why there were so much confusion on that day. And some explosions were actually the "jumpers" on that day. How sad. What got me was the guy who describing that he wason the roof of a building and all he saw were parts everywhere (feet, legs, etc). Can you imagine the psychological traum all of these men are now going through?

About the hopelessness (sp) of the situation: What I find absolutely chilling are the looks on the faces of chief Pfeiffer and the other firefighter next to him, after they watch a desperate Father Judge.

The noise of the jumpers really, really, got to me.
Were the bodies hitting an awning over the first floor of the building? I mean, the noise was so concussive? percussive? (dunno what word I'm looking for), it was shocking.

I think they fell on rooftops, the highway overpass and on the ground, and indeed the roof over the entrance. There is a video made by a Canadian couple who were staying in a hotel near the WTC plaza at that time. This was used in the Moussaoui trial. I will not link to it. It is a very disturbing video, of the people falling to their fate. :(
This is one of the events on 9/11 I still cannot come to peace with.

paraphrasing a firefighter from the naudet video when they realize it was jumpers making those sounds "what could be so horrible, that they'd want to jump". Showing again, how confused these rescue workers on that day. When those sounds played, it was gut wrenching, to know that as one of hte Naudet brothers stated, it was one life extinguished.

If terrorists winning is what it takes for the Bears to obliterate Favre and the Packers 26-0 at Lambeau, I welcome our new terrorist overlords. ;)
I hope you all don't mind a little humor on a depressing anniversary such as this.

I wonder if anyone had the foresight to record MSNBC today. they did a minute by minute replay of that day. It was like watching it for the first time.
CBC, here in canada, did a 1 hour documentary on the 9/11 CTs. It was for the most part fair, although I thought they gave too much air time to the CTs, but I guess that is what made it fair...lol

Bell, are there rooftops that low nearby? And a highway overpass that low that the sound of a body dropping could have been so loud?
I'm not familiar with NYC. Was only there once in 1970 or 71.
I'm tellin' ya, that really weirded me out.

I'm sorry, I wasn't talking about the sounds in the Naudet's film only. A lot of people fell on the roof of the hotel inbetween 1 and 2, and firefighters told about people falling on the overpass. A lot of people fell on the streets and on the plaza :(
But when it comes to the film, yes, I do believe most of them fell on the roof that was over the entrance on the west side of tower 1.
But that is just assumption, judging by the sound. I price myself lucky to not be able to back this up by personal witnessing of this horror. I can't imagine what the people who witnessed this in person (and up close) went - and still are going - through.

CNN has their complete 9/11 coverage from about 8:45 AM to Midnight on their website.

I've still got it on my Tivo. My TV broke awhile back and the replacement finally arrives tomorrow. It doesn't feel appropriate to watch it on my 15" computer monitor.

Thanks, Bell, for clearing that up.
I saw a film about 25 years ago of a fire in a high rise department store in Sao Paulo, Brazil? and they showed several people jumping to their death. It didn't have a sound track though.
Anyhow, thanks. Thinking about it give me the willies (prob. an american expression).
