Hey.. am I becoming the Australian office of SAPS??? ;)
The story. I was asked by a TV show, Today/Tonight, to view a video of what they said looked like a ghost. The video was taken by a motion activated security camera in a Sydney building. The video shows a VERY bury object falling, wafting from the top right to the lower left. After one viewing I knew what is probably was. I won’t say just yet as I hope to post the video in the next day or so. What I have posted is my recreation of the video. .. :)

They knocked a spiderweb loose with their camera? And even if it isn't a spiderweb, it's still obviously being suspended from above. Do ghosts swing around on skyhooks?

Well, these video are by me. Yes, a web. I could not make it 'waft' about like the one the TV people had me view, but with my hanycam I think I can show more or less what is going on. I hope to put the 'real' video online very soon.

My prediction is that believers will say:
1) OK, but your videos are not proof that the "real one" is a fake or has a mundane explanation (which certainly aren't, but the more reasonable alternative is almost invariably dismissed).
2) OK, but your videos don't look exactly the same as the real one.
3) Your videos are certainly a fake because [insert whatever imperfection they may have].
Let's see...., be prepared for the counterattack.

I just hope Naomi Robson wears a lizard on her shoulder like she did for the Steve Irwin tribute.
That woman is a horror.

I guess focus is important. It has to cross close enough to the lens to keep the camera from refocusing on the object and allow you to see what it really is.
And I suppose a lot of security cameras don't have autofocus.

Are you thinking the original was faked by bored nightstaff, or just a natural event? Did you only get a few seconds to see? If it was motion-activated, it's unlikely anything would be on the film before it, but what happens afterwards might be telling.
I'm assuming everyone's seen this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWHjfc7neRk

Natural.. a web floated down right in front of the camera and kept falling. The video I was shown was at about 50% speed because 'it looked better that way.' I must say it looks good but one of the dead giveaways was the way the web reflected the green night vision lights. Hope to have a link to it as soon as the TV show air the story.

I don't understand that. Are you saying a 'real' spook wouldn't reflect the lights? How do you know? :D
I am thinking all will become clear when I see the original.

A small sample of some of Today Tonight's other excellent journalism:

FORMER Papuan politicians have scoffed at claims that cannibals inhabit the Indonesian-controlled province.
Channel Seven's Today Tonight host Naomi Robson and four of her colleagues were deported from Indonesia today for entering the province of Papua on tourist visas.
They were filming a story about a six-year-old Papuan boy supposedly earmarked for ritual killing by a cannibal tribe.

I just plain ol stopped watching "ghost" video clips on the web. 90% of the time I do, something pops out and then screams... and I soil myself.
I hate those things.. so I have to play it once with the sound down low without looking at it to make sure its not one of those lol.
Yes I'm a wimp.
But that has to be one of the worst ghost videos i've seen. So it's about on par with the rest though. The only ones that ever made me truely question it were.... errr.. ahhh. Come to think of it, I honestly dont' think i've ever seen one that could.
