View Full Version : Scholarships for being gay ?

High School students who identify themselves as homosexuals can get up to $2,500 tuition money for college. The money comes from LEAGUE, an AT&T foundation established by employees of the company. The acronym stands for Lesbians, Bisexual, Gay & Transgendered United Employees. LEAGUE has handed out several $1,500 scholarships in the last six years. While grades do count in the awarding of scholarships, it is apparent that ones identity as a homosexual is the prime consideration. For those who are willing to devote themselves to promoting diversity and understanding in the community, the scholarship, dedicated to the memory of Matthew Shepherd, jumps to $2,500. The Family Research Councils Kristin Hansen said, Its sad that teenagers are being deceived about sexuality and recruited into a lifestyle that is unhealthy and immoral. Its definitely evidence that homosexual activists are organized at many facets of society-in the corporate world, in schools and in the media.

Why not?

If a group pulls money together for scholarships should that group be able to choose who recieves the scholarship and for what reasons?

Do you have to furnish proof of your eligibility?

you have to squeal a lot or talk frequently about how useless men are and they monitor your penis or nipples as they react to images of the same sex.

I have to agree. They give scholarships based on race and gender, why not for orientation?

Anybody can give a scholarship for anything they want. There are left-handed scholarships and awards for red-haired people. There are probably even scholarships for left-handed, red-haired people who play the triangle.

The fact that some organization is giving a scholarship to homosexuals doesn't bother me at all. What does bother me is that someone at christianity.com believes that such a practice is a recruiting tool to lure teenagers into a gay lifestyle. Is this how they envision that it works?

Bob: Hey, did you hear that LEAGUE is handing out free college scholarships for gay people?

Harry: Really? I didn't know that. Maybe I should apply. Can I blow you?

Amazing. A P&CE thread where everyone pretty much agrees. Who'd a thunk it?

Psst: orientation is gender, it's sex you're thinking of! Well, you set the challenge, I had to find something to disagree with! ;) :D

What? Were you off living in a cave (like you do) or are you more of an executive transvestite?

There's a movie idea in here.
A straight guy desperately needs money for school, so he fakes being gay and wins a scholarship.
But of course, he must now masquerade the whole year as a gay guy.
Hilarity ensues when a male student falls for our hero, while he actually has eyes for the guy's sister.
Throw in a crusty old dean who's trying to shut down the gay frat house, a gang of homophobic jocks, and possibly a gay talking robot who is the gay frat's mascot.

Man, this one writes itself.

I swear to god that this film has been made (except for the gay talking robot). Now I'm going to have to spend the rest of the afternoon searching through imdb.com for its title, dammit!

Well, if it didn't have the gay talking robot, then it obviously couldn't have been very good. The robot holds it all together.

But, if you figure it out, let us know.

So true. My ex-girlfriend convinced me to go to "Schindler's List" with the promise of a gay talking robot.
You can imagine how angry I was when the credits rolled without said promise being realized.

OK, this is my last post with the words "gay talking robot in it." Promise.
