I'm planning on seeing the Theatre of Science in New York this November.

I haven't been to NY in more than 10 years, so the plan is to take a couple extra days and see a few things. That's where all you wonderful people come in.
I need suggestions, favorite museums, landmakers, that type of stuff. My only requirement is that doesn't required a lot of standing outside, it will be November and I'm a wussy Southerner.
Also, are there any other forum members going to see TOS? We should organize.

I was talking to my sister about going and we decided that the Saturday matinee would be our best choice (we live on the other side of CT so it's a 2 or 3 hour drive home.) It is, of course, implied that we will need to go out to eat and have a beer or two. As far as things to do in NY, you can't go wrong with the Museum of Natural History. And I don't think it would take much convincing to get my sister to agree that we should head into the city on an earlier train so we can check out the museum.
Update: I just bought the tickets now. We'll be going to the 3PM matinee on Nov. 11th.

I've organized a group of non-Forum friends; we're going to the 3 pm show on Sunday, 13 November. You may want to look at http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=63780 and maybe go to the show where JamesDillon will get to stand in the cage.

My inclination is to go to the 3:00 Sat show.
I am also going to try to get tickets for Martin Short's one man(?) show.

I have tickets to Saturday matinee and will be happy to meet up with any others who are attending.
IllegalArgument, I can suggest some places to go and things to do, with some extra parameters from you I can give you some more:
I know Cirque du Soleil's show Delirium will be in NYC that weekend too. The shows at Madison Square Garden are November 8th & 9th at 8 pm.
And if you want to play games hanging out at Neutral Ground is always worthwhile. Nothing set on their calendar yet, but check the site out: http://www.neutralground.net/
At the MoMa, there will be a Brice Marsden exhibit and a "Manet and the Execution of Maximilian" exhibit. Apart from the exhibits at the MoMa, it is my favorite people watching museum. http://www.moma.org/exhibitions/upcoming.html
The Whitney has a Picasso exhibit and Albers And Moholy-Nagy: From The Bauhaus To The New World. It is a good smaller art museum, one that you can see in a day easily. http://www.whitney.org/
Don't know if there will be any new special exhibits at the American Museum of Natural History or at the Hayden Planetarium but they are always worth a visit. If you haven't seen the Planetarium since it was redone it is definitely worth a look. A sunny day will be nicer to be there than a cloudy one though, just cooler to be in the big glass cube on a sunny day.

The Met will also feature "Americans In Paris (http://www.metmuseum.org/special/se_event.asp?OccurrenceId={6F4EC67D-AAAF-4633-8CFC-651D6A8DC58A})" at that time.

For those of you coming down for the weekend, I have a room booked at the Picwick Arms Hotels.

If anyone needs a place, send me an PM. I should be able to a add a person to the room.
I'll be there from Thursday to Sunday.
Thanks for all the suggestions.

Dang nab it! I forgot all about this show, until today, when I read Randi's commentary!
I hope there is room somewhere for me, on one of its showings.

It's general admission seating, so if you can get a ticket and get there early, you'll get a good seat.

I plugged this in the other thread but I'll do it here as well, seeing as Theatre of Science is hot news this week and in the commentary.
Get your official Theatre of Science t-shirts and merchandise (http://www.cafepress.com/theatreofsci) here!

Get tickets for the evening show then, and turn up early just in time to meet the others coming out.
Of course, you'll miss James' moment of death glory but at least you'll get to hang out with the survivors others.
