Hmmm. Interesting. Any of you hear this bit of news yesterday on one of the cable news channels?

Maybe someone bored, or truly interested, in 'missing links' and such stuff, could find the story.

Well, they don't have feet. What else might they walk on?

Is that really new? I recently read a science fiction story by Stephen Baxter ("The Children of Time", July 2005) that describes an animal in the very far future (say, millions of years) as "grey skinned, supported on two narrow forelegs and a powerful articulated tail", "this was [...] a distant relation of a shark".

It sounds like Baxter heard about this shark (in 2005?) and extrapolated from it. I thought it was very far-fetched until I saw the picture in the article, but now it makes sense.

Damn, something else to give me nightmares. Not just the snakes under the bed, next time I swallow the Mezcal worm, I'll have to worry about sharks.

Duh dum, Duh dum, Duh dum...(Jaws music)

Watch out, it's hobbling after you!

Anyone note the bit about people actually, in real life, fishing with dynamite? I always thought that was just a joke...
