I don't suppose I am th eonly person to find this ironic.

There is a conference this week in Cromer, Norfolk about Bach Flower Remedies http://www.bachessenceproducers.com/programme.htm

There has just been an item on the local news about it. The opening shot was a pciture of Bach with his dates... 1886-1936

He died when he was only 50 and his death certificate (http://www.edwardbach.org/imageviewer.asp?filename=/images/bachdeathcert.jpg&caption1=Death%20certificate%20of%20Dr%20Edward%20 Bach&caption2=Dated%2027%20November%201936) is available online. It's not that easy to read, but it looks like he died of cardiac (?) failure and sarcoma.

It a shame the woos never ask why their own physicians never manage to heal themselves.

Shouldn't the headline have been "Quack Remedies Associated with Early Death of Founder"?

Yes, it would be interesting to see some data on the longevity of all CAM providers. Certainly, the chiros don’t seem to fare too well. In a survey examining the longevity of chiropractors vs. general population vs. MDs the lifespans of chiropractors turned out to be the lowest of the three groups:

All misunderstood pioneers die young. It's because the gods love them.

I suppose he was so sickly that were it not for the power of his remedies, he would have died much earlier

Of course the cardiac episode could have been brought on by his hayfever

From what I have read, Bach's flower remedies are aimed at emotional disturbances rather than physical ones, so his own remedies wouldn't have been useful in healing his heart problem. But I think I remember he had a broader spectrum of woo beliefs that might have been expected to be helpful if they had been true. I think he was the one who didn't believe in bathing.
