Wow - superb! What grabbed me was the very clear view of the earth's surface, which shows just how low the orbit is. Geostationery it certainly isn't.

Actually, the space station is in a higher earth orbit than the shuttle normally flies. The shuttle usually flies at about 115 miles but the space station is at 224 miles. The maximum altitude for the shuttle is 400 miles and that's about where the Hubble space telescope flies. Geostationary orbit is about 22,000 miles, so comparitively speaking, the shuttle is always in low earth orbit.
