I'm currently reading a book called the "Republican war on Science" by Chris Mooney. I'm in the first few chapters but in it he explains the history of mixing politics with science and how politicians often distort, ignore and censor any scientific facts that disagree with them or their policies.
It's a great book so far.
Has anyone else read it?

I am ignoring this thread because it involves reading which is something I am against. :boggled:

When you're finished reading it you may want to check out www.crookedtimber.org/ Mooney participated in an extensive discussion of the book (several academics blogged on it and he responded). Mooney also used to work for CSICOP. Smart dude.
