Take your favorite organization in the skeptical movement.
Consider the level of influence they have, their membership, their overall impact.
Where do you think they will be in regards to these things in say 50 years time?

Optimist.

Or will they be ignored because more people are getting interested in science?

Or will they be ignored because more people are getting interested in science?
That makes no sense.

That makes no sense.
Actually, I have to give him some credit. That does make sense. If in 50 years, the majority of people have embraced science and critical thought, and only a negligible percentage of the population still clings to woo, skeptical organisations will become less important. If, say, only 10% of the population believed in the paranormal, what would be the point in offering a million dollar challenge about it?
Now, I don't see the pendulum swinging that far in such a short time (or, really, ever), but if it did, skeptical organisations would largely be a redundancy.

Ah, another T'ai Chi thread about the "organized skeptical movement"....
He opened this thread:
Ask me about the organized skeptical movement
And what it must do to get more respect.
Only problem is, T'ai refused to answer any questions about what he meant with the "organized skeptical movement", or why it needs "more respect". In fact, he didn't even want to be asked any questions at all.
About half an hour later, after opening the thread, he opens another:
Vehicle for delivering skeptical message
What is the best 'vehicle' for delivering the message of the organized skeptical movement?
Only problem is, T'ai still refused to answer any questions about what he meant with the "organized skeptical movement".
This time, you have to name the organizations. True to form, T'ai wants you to do his work for him.

Tai Chi,
You have this bizarre obsession with the "organized skeptical movement." Why is that?
