In this thread it is mentioned first that in the movie in plane site the witness says
It was like a cruise missle with wings
Later in the movie Loose Change the same witness says he saw
An American airlines jet
i would think the obvious answer is it was a typical example of the Truth movement not telling the truth. The man probably said in his complete statement it was an american airlines jet and also used the analogy that it was like a cruise missile with wings. By only showing the first part viewers of the in plane site video are led to believe the man saw a cruise missile when in fact he was using colorful language like me saying my brother was a strong as an ox (even though I know full well he would have lost a tug of war against one)
But to the people in the Loose change site this discrepancy was due to
Nice catch. Just go's to show that eyewitness' tend to be unreliable.
or
i wonder if he was told to change his mind about what he saw after the plans site interview
While I suspect most of us do cherry picking of facts whether on purpose or not but some in the Truth movement are the champions at taking a portion of a statement and twisting it to whatever Truth they want to advance.
I really miss being able to post a response to such nonsense on the Loose Change board.

Classic CT Logic:Nice catch. Just go's to show that eyewitness' tend to be unreliable....except when what they say agrees with our hypothesis.

Not much use pointing it out over there. You'd only be banned and your post removed. Still, good point.

Both clips are from the same interview. Look at the background and his shirt color. Only difference is in Loose Change the video is cropped. All he's doing is describing what he saw, well supposedly saw.

i wonder if he was told to change his mind about what he saw after the plans site interview??? Total speculation here i know :)
but how can someone get mixed up between a cruise missle with wings and an american airlines 757? Just how BIG did they make cruise missiles in 2001 !!??!?!
he obviously didnt even read the post directly above his own (which was posted 20 minutes before, so we know it was visible) typical truther research

Yeah, this is the worst example of their quote mining. It also shows they fail to grasp the concept of the "simile" which I learned in 5th grade.
"I was sitting in the northbound on 27 and the traffic was, you know, typical rush-hour -- it had ground to a standstill. I looked out my window and I saw this plane, this jet, an American Airlines jet, coming. And I thought, 'This doesn't add up, it's really low.'
"And I saw it. I mean it was like a cruise missile with wings. It went right there and slammed right into the Pentagon.

They were confused and thought it was a lesson about the "smilie"

Yes, but they're little, so I could see the confusion one might have.

And, they're not extended on launch (just looked at a bazillion cruise missile picutres on google).

Right, the missile gains altitude via the rocket engine, then drops the rocket, extends wings, and converts to jet engine for the long haul.
To make clear, I mean that I could see using the phrase "cruise missile with wings", and the wings on an actual CM are almost unnoticable, and such a phrase emphasizes that this one had wings.

Technically, they're called "fins." It is my belief that the witness in discussion made the comparison because the aircraft acted like a missile; to wit: it traveled and descended very rapidly, hit a building and exploded. That's what missiles do.

This is a perfect example of why I think the CTers have HIJACKED the word "truth" for their movement. We need to take it back, because their cherry picking, out of context quoting asses do the word injustice. I want the "truth" back!!!
Now who is with me!!!!!

As an artist, I can add in a Dremel tool, a canvas stretcher (kind of like a big, wide-tipped pair of pliers), and some colorful paint. Man... I could get Amnesty International after me BIG TIME! :D

I have an army of cockroaches living in my kitchen that I'm prepared to unleash.
Also a lot of washing up that could be flung in a dangerous manner.
