Right, everybody knows that Charlie Sheen buys into this conspiracy stuff, but Ive just had a close encounter with a celebrity conspiracist.
I've got Peter Gabriel on my myspace, 'cause I enjoy his music. I was reading some of the blog entries, and he had an entry called a 'Big Piece of Awareness', which was of course an entry consisting of only a promotional poster for Loose Change. I left a comment - not mean or hostile in any way, I simply stated that Loose Change was a poorly done documentry, and that comment seems to have been removed.
It's not really a big deal to me personally, but I find it very scary that this is the type of attitude that the truth movement is spreading amongst both the lay-person population and celebrities; this 'agree with me or I will censor you' attitude that is supposedly only used by the big scary 'NWO' or whatever....
I don't know. It still says that there are 22 comments, but I only read 21, mine being the last one which I cannot see, so maybe it wasn't really removed. But if it was, well, that just brings me pack to the point about this scary way of thinking that just keeps spreading and spreading.....

Do you have a link to his blog?

Right here (http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=70716461&blogID=114332111&Mytoken=5E5A5DB7-DA7E-46F2-A45BC1F8F949D7E911992414)
Like I said, I could be wrong....it says there are 22 comments yet only 21 can be seen, mine being the missing one, and me being only one of two people gutsy enought to speak out against the movie.

Oh man, I am going to have to stop listening to my old Genesis albums now...

Do we have any way to confirm that this actually is Peter Gabriel? This was from back in April, I'm surprised there wasn't more of a mention made of it.

I see nothing that demonstrates that this is the Peter Gabriel of Genesis fame, and frankly, I find it difficult to believe that he would be on myspace.
Colour me skeptical.

You're quite right, it could be a fake myspace.
But Peter or no Peter, my ultimate point is that this way of thinking seems to be growing faster and faster, among celebrities like Charlie Sheen, Academics like the Scholars for 9/11 Truth, and of course, the general population.....I find that scary :boggled:

Sorry, had to fix your post. Either way, we don't rely on celebrities to be intelligent, thank goodness. You can expect a nut or two to prove that they are indeed a nut.

That's cool...it looks more accurate now:p
Actually, after looking at his offical website and finding no mention of a myspace at all, I'm getting more and more skeptical of this really being him.
So, false alarm........maybe............celebrities like Mr. Sheen still need to go do their homework.

Thinking about it now... I should have place quotations around celebrities as well.

Maybe, intellectual heavyweights like Mr Sheen should first figure out how not to write cheques to hookers, before declaring Loose Change to be a beacon of truth shining through the fog of logic and science.

He found a hooker that would take a check?! Maybe he's smarter than I thought he was.

He wouldn't be the first person to have a "tribute" myspace site masquerading as a real site. A band I like is having the same problem with "their" myspace site.

Some groups feel the most effective way to get attention for their cause is to recruit celebrities.
Whenever I hear about celebrities taking up a cause, I always remember this press conference with Elvis Presley in 1972.

At about the 3min 30sec mark he is asked by a woman about Vietnam protestors (the questioner brought up his military service in the question).
He replied:
Honey, I'd just as soon keep my own personal views about that to myself, because I'm just an entertainer and I'd rather not say
I believe the same reporter (judging from the voice) later asked him about Women's Liberation.
On social comments, I'd rather not comment.

Josh Redstone,
Totally off topic, but I'm going to Taboo in the morning (Tuesday) and leaving late Wednesday - that's fairly close (within a hundred miles) to your neck of the woods, isn't it?

I've heard from several sources that Roger Waters (former bass player/songwriter for Pink Floyd) is a Denier. He's also an extreme pacifist; perhaps because his own father died in World War II.

Didn't Pink Floyd compare the Seperation Barrier to the Berlin Wall during their last tour of Israel?

If you go to http://www.petergabriel.com/ and click 'forum', you can click 'search' and type in 'myspace'. In one thread back in April, many members were wondering about if the myspace site was legit. Nothing was determined, but most were very skeptical.
EDITED: by all means, search for "Loose change" and "world trade center" to find the PG forum's resident nutters. No indications on PG's website that he himself believes any of it.

I don't know about you guys, but the belief in such nonsense as become one of my basis to determine if a person is intelligent or not, and if I want to even talk to that person. Nowadays I tend to try and find out what a person believes happened on 9/11, and if this person ends up being a "true believer", like the Averys and Bermas of this world, then I will not have anything to do with them.
That's sad, but that's it. :(

Man now every time I listen to a Pink Floyd album I'm going to question whether or not they are 9/11 denying grave pissers. Oh well, Dark Side of the Moon still kicks butt.

That doesn't really surprise me, though I'd still want to hear it right from his mouth before I decided I was sure of it. Although, he wrote most of Floyd's lyrics, and you can hear very clearly his political and societal opinions in their songs - he isn't exactly a fan of big business/schools/government, etc.
BigNickel - I did the same thing before going to bed last night, but I couldn't find anything. I think I was probably using the search wrong. But like I said, after seeing his homepage and all the third world aid stuff he's involved in, I find it hard to believe that if he had a myspace, that he wouldn't mention any of that stuff there.

spreading amongst both the lay-person population and celebrities;
Are you implying that celebrities aren't laypeople?
Layperson - someone who is not a clergyman or a professional person
Taking this to mean not a professional in the area being discussed, celebrities are, at best, equal to the common person. If anything I think they would be more likely to believe in things like this since they are likely to have more money, and quite possibly more time, with which to pursue them, as well as generally having an education in arty subjects with no need for critical thinking.

Perhaps I should've picked a different word other than lay-person. Celebrities are usually professionals something, acting, singing etc.......well, except maybe for Paris Hilton :D
.....however they definitely arent professional demolition personel or engineers, so you're right, they're lay-people to when it comes to this. However they do hold a lot of sway when it comes to influencing other people's opinions, which really sucks when it comes to the truth movement.
