Apparently this is the plot for this wednesdays South Park:

The world’s biggest conspiracy of all time will finally be uncovered when Eric Cartman exposes the true culprit behind the September 11th attacks.

This should be good :D

Man i used to have a lot of respect for trey and matt until now, I can see exactly where this is going, they are going to completely make fun of our entire movement and make everyone in our generation (pretty much everyone watches south park in the 10-20 age range) laugh at the "conspiracies" of 9/11...why did they do this? Same reason people made fun of Robert Tilton - it's easy.

judging from what i'm hearing about the promo i just saw...

cartman's going to blame the jews for 9/11.

great, well hopefully it will at least help us a little

when watching a news show or something of that sort .. when they make fun of the truth movement .. yea .. there's grounds to get a bit angry. but come on this is south park.

Maybe so, but I bet the LC admins preemptively banned the southparkstudios.com IP just in case.

That would be super-great if the characters in the show actually realize that 9/11 was the work of the Zionist NWO! I think it will cause people to research it for themselves. Is this Cartman character pretty well respected among his friends?

I mean, even when bill maher called us idiots i knew it wasnt a huge deal because for one thing it was hitting the maisntream, and secondly most of the people who watch his show are adults and mindless liberals who have no idea what the real picture is, but south park is a show watched by millions of young people who can help us, but instead they will be swayed away by one episode of south park. Ask any south park fan what they think of scientology even know they literally don't know a thing about it. I don't support scientology but my point is all these people will make rash, harsh judgements on an entire group of people just because of south park, people need to realize how much affect this show has.

I was about to say that.

The problem with the movement is they know they don't have a leg to stand on when it comes to the spotlight. They know if they ever bought this to courts, it would laughed right out.

That's why they resort to Fascist-like propaganda and act like a church: It's the only weapons they got against an illusional enemy that will never hurt them unless they go around breaking the law.

Wow, some of those LC comments are really, really pathetic.

All bolding mine.

I think we all need to pay their forums a visit.
http://www.southparkstudios.com/fans/bbs/index.php

I agree.

We just took a giant hit backwards in the progression 'first they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win'.

I was glad we had gotten to the stage they were fighting us, because they don't have much to fight with (9/11 commission report, Popular Mechanics). I'm sure the people working against the 9/11 truth movement are jumping for joy. You notice how many engineers from NIST stood forward to smack down 9/11 truth? Zero. They sent out 'fact checkers' to get destroyed on Goyette's show, and people like Meigs to go against Dylan and Jason. They didn't want a fight over the facts of 9/11, both scientific and circumstantial. Now they can go back to the ridiculing, which is much safer.

Eh...Im slowly lightening up to this episode, but if they make fun of my boy alex or they poke fun at dylan in a really harsh way theres no forgiving from me, and if this does have a really negative affect on us, its really gonna suck.

I think South Park taking on the Truthers proves that people are not really "waking up."

As we all know, CT's like to repeat endlessly that everyone is waking up. It's part of the same mental disorder that causes them to perceive a nonexistent conspiracy in the first place.

But haven't you noticed that South Park only goes after easy targets? South Park only bashes people that everyone is bashing--like Tom Cruise. It's not real satire; it's just commercial TV satire, with no real edge.

To speak bluntly, South Park is satire for people who can't read, done by people who can't draw.

So you see, if South Park goes after the 9/11 conspiracy folks, that means most people already perceive them as clowns. Otherwise, the show would never touch them.

This strongly suggests that--far from catching on--the "inside job" theory of 9/11 is generally seen as a joke. The Truthers intuitively perceive this. That's why the upcoming show bothers them so much.

MarkyX

The only thing I laughed was the half-naked guy killing everyone with one hit, mainly because I can relate to that (ex-level 55 orc warrior PKer here). Most of the jokes were either predictable or just weren't executed well. I've seen funnier game jokes from webcomics.

Still, the more exposure, not matter how bad the quality of said exposure is, is not bad. People are making fun of these 9/11 Deniers, but I wouldn't mind MORE people making fun of these idiots, even if it includes SP's audience.

The more the merrier, I say.

What a farking idiot. Even for a CTist, this is stupidity above and beyond the call of duty (or, in honor of South Park, "dooky").

This is from Dimwit@ATS

Funny episode, but with some strange tones. I'm not sure if the real undertone of the show was to promote the conspiracy (by showing the 911truth.org on the site owner's shirt, having Cartman explain the destruction of the buildings, and have the administration explain the general theories out there regarding 9/11), or if the show wanted to mock these theories. As used through out history, humor through satyre has always been a way to promote a controversial subject without being penalized for it.

Is it in the water, the shoes, or the jeans(read genes)?

not sure bout what your quesiton means, but to clarify my previous post:

NO, the creators of south park are not on our side. No, the episode was not some sort of subtle attempt by them to 'help' us. No, they aren;t on some gov;t payroll to do this despite their true feelings. THEY THINK WE ARE RETARDED.

Again, for those of you who may not have read that last paragraph correctly, let me summarize it for you. THEY THINK WE ARE RETARDED. If you come away from this episode thinking anything else, you are living in a fantasy world or in total denial. upwards of 2/3rds of the american populace also thinks we are retarded, so this shouldn;t suprise or shock anyone.

A slice of fried comedy gold, right there.

Well, the conclusion of the episode was pretty clear: if you believe in the 9/11 conspiracy, you must be retarded. The Hardley boys knew, and they had a big CLUE. Both right and left.

But why am I not surprised that the obvious message of that episode just travelled right through the heads of the CTists?

The irony of that "report"

-But the overriding message here is a continuation of the Bush incompetence theory. South Park makes clear that 9/11 was perpetrated by "pissed off Arabs" and that only a "retard" would think the government is capable of carrying this out.

Excuse me? Nineteen people in a cave could make NORAD stand-down, fly Cessna planes and otherwise catch an elaborate and leading intelligence network off-guard, but the government could not because Bush is a moron?

I read the longer thread about the ep, with the truther-posting starting on page 3. Some back and forths between truthers and skeptics, after which some SP-regular chimed in with something along the lines of "sounds plausible, I don't really like jews". After that I left. I'm sure it's a comedy gold mine, but... but the stupid!

I don't watch South Park, but I made an exception for this episode. I think it was funnier for those of us who have to deal with the CTers, than it was for the average person.

And then I read the forums here and at LC. The best quote from over there has to be:

j0osh at the LC forum Posted: Oct 12 2006, 04:00 AM:
Baseball...porno...lord of the rings..warcraft...mel gibson...scientology...david blaine...john edwards...psychic detectives..

The fact that 9/11 truth is in there is great for me...It's like a badge of honor to be made fun of by South Park, and it shows exactly how far we've come.So now 9/11-truth is in the same basket as Mel Gibson, Scientology, John Edwards, and psychic detectives. And orphia nay (posting here at JREF) says South Park has made fun of Paris Hilton.

What do these particular people have in common? They all believe very strongly in ridiculously false things.
9/11 conspiracists -- that they know The Truth TM
Mel Gibson -- that the Jews are out to get him
Scientology -- Xenu (need I say more?)
John Edwards -- that he can talk to the dead (or maybe he doesn't believe it, but does believe in money)
psychic detectives -- that they're psychic
Paris Hilton -- that she has a valid reason to existNow that's some company.

After reading this quote, there is no longer any doubt in my mind: Avery knows full well the 9/11 denier movement is a load of bull dung; for some reason (personal financial gain, ego, whatever) he's just maintaining a front to keep his little retarded flock in line.

And I would pay money to see Averay ask Stone and Parker what they really think of 9/11...

I was scanning through the South Park forum, and couldn't believe that someone actually posted that picture of "melted steel" that resulted from the cleanup crew cutting the beam with a torch.

I have used this example in the past as a blatent CT lie, since there is absolutely NO question about the origin of it. The fact that it is still passing around the CT literature shows how dishonest the movement is. If there were concerned about truth, they would just as much quelle its use if they encounter it.

That it is still floating around tells me the folks who know better aren't doing much to stop it.

The scary thing is that one SP episode can accumulate as much damage to the Troof movement as 1000 scientific papers.
If it makes you feel better, this is because the Troothers don't care at all about scientific accuracy. What they crave is publicity. That's why South Park can strike them in such asymmetric fashion.

At least in my circles, the scientific community views these guys unequivocally as the frauds that they are. It doesn't even register the barest interest because they're so categorically and obviously incorrect. Even the Intelligent Designers have better scientific credibility.

I liked the quote about evolution that they worked into the show. To paraphrase, someone said the official story was full of holes. Stan said "the theory of evolution is full of holes, but that doesn't mean it's wrong."

As far as what to wear to the WTC site, I think a t-shirt with a picture of the 911truth guy from the episode and the phrase "Because 1/4 of the population is retarded" would be pretty funny.

I not too sure I agree with calling them retards. As a retard can defined a few ways

Define retard.

1. Used as a disparaging term for a mentally retarded person.
2. A person considered to be foolish or socially inept.

Maybe the should have been more accurate.

Define simpleton.

A person who is felt to be deficient in judgment, good sense, or intelligence; a fool.

There, that is better. No doubt meaning there.

I just saw the episode. It wasn't as funny as most other SP episodes. But ffs do they take a swing at the CTists.

The CTists are being slaughtered. They are down for the count.

The scary thing is that one SP episode can accumulate as much damage to the Troof movement as 1000 scientific papers.

H.L. Mencken famously said "One horse-laugh is worth ten thousand syllogisms. It is not only more effective; it is also vastly more intelligent."

Since the CTs are not based on reason or evidence, we should not be surprised that ridicule is more effective.

And I have hundreds of unanswered questions, all concerning Dylan Hardly's involvement with barnyard pornography. In case he hasn't noticed, anyone can ask an infinite amount of questions, but it's the few concrete answers that actually add up to something.

Dylan,

Why do you have the right to criticize the "official story" but anyone who criticizes you and your work is "making fun" or "trivializing" the victims of 9/11.

It has become obvious to the rational thinkers in America (the other 3/4) that you don't even believe the stuff in your movie anymore in your heart. At this point, you know the only way out is to admit you are completely wrong and take down your website and your videos and that would make you lose this "fame" you have built for yourself.

Its just a pity that you couldn't use all of this energy and time that you apparently have tons of to benefit your fellow man.

What kind of sad old man will you be when the paranoid delusions you had in your youth of the doomed future America is sure to see doesn't come to pass.

Will you at least teach your children not to spread vicious rumors based on circumstantial "evidence" and outright lies (Marvin Bush was head of security on 9/11)?

Dylan, as long as I have your attention, I want to let you know just how much you sicken me. The majority of the morons on this forum are just that: gullible morons. They actually believe all the ******** they're spewing. But you know you're full of ****. You're in this for the fame, the money, the directing deals you're hoping to get out of this, whatever. And 10 years from now, when all the money's run out and you've faded back into obscurity because everyone's realized what a f*cking hack you are, I'm sure we'll be able to find you on some talk show trying to squeeze one last bit of publicity out of your ****** little film by coming forward to reveal that "well yeah, of course Loose Change was supposed to be fictional! We never meant for so many people to actually take it seriously! We were just, like, blurring the line between reality and fiction - remember Orson Welles's War of the Worlds broadcast? Just like that! But those conspiracy nuts just took it and ran with it!"

You're a f*cking war profiteer, dylan. There's a special place in hell for people like you.

Ah, but you see, you're not thinking like a CTist. There's probably 10 minutes worth of content that, taken out of context and spliced together with maybe a little creative editing would make it look like Stone and Parker are die-hard bleevers. I have an analysis for Mr. Avery.

25% of the American people are retarded and fall easily for 9-11 conspiracy gibberish. 53% of the popular vote in '04 went for Bush.

If we eliminate the retarded 25%, then that gives George W. Bush more than two thirds of the non-retarded people in the US.

Parker and Stone have obviously offered a ringing endorsement of Bush.

Likewise; just saw it and thought the same. Excellent episode, although the Hardy Boys thing was lost on me until I Googled them (don't think they've really crossed the pond).

I could just see the CTs get tiny "clues" as it looked like South Park might be setting the episode within the context of the government being responsible, and then I could almost hear them deflate in the last ten minutes.

Yeah, the Looser's response to the episode has been funnier than the episode itself. How, in the name of Ed, could anyone watch that and NOT realize that it was slamming the conspiracy theory and theorists? HOW!?!?! How could you NOT see that? Is it cluelessness? A complete separation from reality? Or are they just that stupid? I'm reminded of that bit from Seinfeld -

"You know you really need some help. A regular psychiatrist couldn't even help you. You need to go to like Vienna or something. You know what I mean? You need to get involved at the University level. Like where Freud studied and have all those people looking at you and checking up on you. That's the kind of help you need. Not the once a week for eighty bucks. No. You need a team. A team of psychiatrists working round the clock thinking about you, having conferences, observing you, like the way they did with the Elephant Man. That's what I'm talking about because that's the only way you're going to get better."

Anyway, my favorite Truther response from the LC board to some non-believer.

Cute wise guy, we'll be seeing you in the FEMA camps soon.

Well, KT deserves a bit of credit for at least recognizing that it was a hit piece, something that seems to have escaped Dylan Hardly and many of his admirers. Among the 25% of the population from which the CTists draw their membership, that's something of an accomplishment.

I've just popped over there. At the moment no less than six threads are on the go. All about SouthPark.

These guys are absolutely nuts. In total denial and are even now dreaming up a scheme whereby a cartoon episode is actually part of the conspiracy.

Un *********** believable.

Denial in it's purest form.

In my opinion, they were trying to help the Truth Movement. Did people really expect the creators of South Park to lay out a detailed and organized analysis of evidence about 9/11 being a cover up? If they were to be completely blatant that they were in favor of the 9/11 Truth Movement, I doubt the episode would have aired. They had to make it funny, and in order to do this they had to "poke fun" at us. Their true intentions were in our favor.

I just watched the footage of Gravy and Alex Jones again. I couldn't help noticing how often Gravy said "Really?" after Jones came out with some completely assinine comment.

"We have evidence. Total evidence!"
"Oh really?"

"That's a strawman!"
"Really?"

It happens a lot in that few minutes. Quite ammusing if Parker and Stone had watched that bit of footage.
That would make a great montage. Just Kyle and Gravy saying "Really?" over and over.

Sounds like a winner to me.

Or maybe just take one of Jones' rants and edit in Kyle saying "Really?" every couple of sentences.

I suggest wearing South Park shirts. Even better, bring some signs saying Kyle Did It or something. Most importantly, POST THE VIDEOS!!!

How about a black "Investigate 9/11" style tee with the words, "25% of the population is retarded" written underneath. ;)

I think something like this would be better:

It'll work better if the wearer has the flap hat to go with it.

This was definitely one of the best episodes. Not quite 'super friends' but an instant classic.

I love, just love the poster on the loose change forum who states: Wait for kyles speech at the end. That's where he ties together everything and explains it for people who aren't capable of capturing the intended message of the episode. That's when you know what's what.

Admitting that you aren't capable of understanding a cartoon while you are watching it, and need it explained to you. Priceless.

not sure bout what your quesiton means, but to clarify my previous post:

This has to be my favorite quote. He could have summed it up as:
Hey retards! They're calling us retards, retards!
You just can't make this stuff up.

I'm rather pleased that my very first response to reading the whole 9/11 conspiracy theory (preserved on another site) was the same as Kyle's:

"That's retarded."

Whenever one of them does something really stupid (about 24 times a day in other words), I think of Matt Dillon in There's Something About Mary:

"I love 'tards."
