I think most of you know that President Kennedy's brain is missing from the National Archives. But I also think the public, and members here, do not know that President Kennedy's remains were removed from his first burial plot to another, more prominent one in Arlington National Cemetery in 1967. This activity took place in the middle of the night, and there were many, many National Guardsmen surrounding and protecting this activity. On hand were Bobby Kennedy, Ted Kennedy and I think a certain Archbishop of the Catholic Church. When the President was reburied, Jacqueline Kennedy was brought to the new burial site and a service was held.

There are photos to prove this. Only, I haven't been able to locate them on the Internet. In one or more of the photos, a stainless steel container was on the ground, next to the opened grave. I believe it contained the remainder of Kennedy's brain and was reburied with President Kennedy under orders of Robert Kennedy. It has long been asserted he took custody of the brain. But where did he keep it? Now maybe we know.

I don't know how many of you know about this. I just thought it was interesting. :)

That's "Kennedy's," as in "The remains of President Kennedy." Your title means "President Kennedy stays," which I don't think is what you meant.

Are other brains kept in the National Archives?

Did you know that Ted Kennedy's brain has been pickled for decades?

I think the first question that comes to my mind is: SO WHAT?

And please provide a citation for It has long been asserted he took custody of the brain.

I do think it's interesting, as trivia goes. The House Select Committee tried to trace the brain and other autopsy samples. RFK apparently did take possession of them, but he hasn't acknowledged doing so, AFAIK. My fear is that one morning Teddy told Robert, "I owe you for that stuff in the fancy decanter. I drank it last night."

Ah, now we're on to a proper conspiracy for kc AKA "Da Silent But Deadly WTC H-Bomb Depleted Ucranium" to run with. Good thing Joe D. isn't around to hear this. He'd rip this forum apart with his bare hands.

I don't think it's funny. She's entombed in Westwood Memorial Cemetery in L.A.

And Gravy, please don't play semantics with me. What are you trying to prove?

Have you seen the body? How do you know she's there?

Isn't it possible that Bobby Kennedy had the FBI substitute another body and had her cremated?

Or maybe she didn't die that night, but was held a sex slave by RFK, but she died in an S&M accident.

Gee for a conspiracy theorist, you seem awfully willing to accept the "official" story.

No, she's not. Arthur Miller had her reinterred in Green-Wood cemetery in Brooklyn.

You have to be kidding. Miller didn't go to the funeral. Finally, Joe DiMaggio stepped forward, claimed her and blocked her Hollywood friends from attending.

I think you're joking.

It is interesting. I can't imagine why Robert Kennedy would even want custody of his brain, or for that matter why anyone cares where his brain is currently and why anyone would go to the trouble of trying to track it down.

Just creepy, man.

These guys (http://www.seeing-stars.com/Buried2/PierceBros.shtml) in Westwood seem to think they have Marilyn's remains. I'm pretty sure Lee Strasberg wound up with Marilyn's posessions and they were in storage in New York for many years.

Yes, because things that happen at night are intrinsically more sinister. This is comparable to Robert Irsay moving the Colts out of Baltimore in the wee hours of the morning. I wonder if the National Guards used Mayflower too?

The House Select Committee on Assassinations report stated that they believed that Robert Kennedy obtained "custody" of the brain but felt that there was no evidence to indicate that he had it reinterred with the body at Arlington. Their belief was that it was destroyed to prevent future public display.

Off topic here with a quick post.

When I got my first job out of college, Irsay's brother (I can't remember his name at the moment) was still working. I'm guessing that he was in his mid to late 60s. He was a HVAC vendor in the Chicago area. When I found out that he was Robert's brother, I hinted about getting some Colts tickets. Man did he hate his brother! They had a big falling out over taking care of their mother, and hadn't spoken to each other for years. He was one funny dude though. Old school all the way. Swore like hell, liked a martini lunch and thought that all of the female engineers in the office were some type of administrative assistants. :p

Well I suppose it could be correctly described as "apocrypha".

But really what possible significance could it have, unless there is some wacky scheme to re-animate JFK using what's left of his pickled grey matter?
