Eckankar should be publicly exposed for what it is. This cult is a quiet culprit that thrives on an air of respectability. It's run by a sociopath and was started by another sociopath. The teachings are based on plagiarisms, and anyone who isn't wise enough to do a little homework in history, mythology, world religion and the occult can be suckered in. If you are thinking of joining this group, think again. First read what David Lane and other detractors have to say, then, as a matter of course, just don't believe anything. People in this cult are deluded, in many cases, beyond repair.

I personally read the original sources that were plagiarized by Paul Twitchell. This guy was a backwards bum who couldn't even lie consistently. The Eckankar literature is replete with lies and contradictions, but logic falls by the wayside when the lure of "spiritual advancement" is so strong. The antidote? Wake up and smell the roses and don't waste your time.

I remember these guys... even at my worst, I thought they were crazy.

They're still around? It's been almost 40 years since I last heard about them. I thought (and hoped) they'd died out. Too bad. If a cult can last through a full generation after the founder's death, it often can hold out practically forever.:(

Their US headquarters is in Minneapolis and their worldwide is in Paris. I know a guy who used to perform music at their big cathedral in Minneapolis. He sent me a bunch of material when I was getting my Masters. You gotta love a name like HU (Hugh) for a supreme being.

Another fun fact - you know sometimes you 'feel' a flutter around your ears? Eckankar says this is a 'master' walking by. :-)

Your opinion is little more than a rant.

Do you have a logical argument?

Sweet. PM me and let's work out when and where this place is.

We can meet beforehand at that pub a block or two away from U of M Fairview Hospital. (i can't rememer the name of that place.)
