I dunno...
Just downloaded it...
1.Somehow it keeps asking me to connect when i want to 'update' a piece of software, when i am actually connected.
2.If you want the 'favorites' panel always on the righthand side...well...you cant narrow it..its one size and 'hard luck' ( and its not small )
So what do you think and any answers for the above probs?
Thanks...

I must say, I'm mildly impressed for a change. Finally, tabbed browsing for IE!
I still use Firefox at home, though...

My question for browser gurus is whether one should delay implementing IE 7 given the following information. Also does this admonition apply mainly or only to businesses or would home users not be able to browse some sites on this new platform?
Internet Explorer 7 Auto Updates to Roll Out Slowly
Microsoft has decided to delay delivering Internet Explorer 7 via Automatic Updates until November to give companies and Web sites more time to get ready for full deployment of the Web browser, according to Gary Schare, the company's director of Windows Product Management. (The information comes to us from Preston Gralla of our sister publication Computerworld.)
Businesses need the time to set companywide policies for browser deployment and possibly recode any intranet sites that are not compatible with the new version of the browser. Similarly, public Web sites need the extra time to ensure that their sites are compatible, Gralla says.

The following account in a Washington Post blogspot may be responsible for what you are reporting:
Attacks, Flaw Reports Mar IE 7 Release
Microsoft released a major update of its Internet Explorer Web browser this week, but the red-letter occasion was stained by reports of anti-virus miscues, phishing attacks and what turned out to be untrue reports that the new product contains previously documented security flaws.
First came a run of junk e-mail claiming to be from Microsoft that tried to get recipients to click on a link and download the latest version of IE (the link, as you may have already guessed, installs a Trojan horse program that opens a back door for hackers on infected PCs.)
Then came reports of a vulnerability in IE 7 that was somehow carried over from the older IE 5.5 version. Vulnerability watcher Secunia said it developed a proof-of-concept attack using the bug that could allow a maliciously crafted Web site to steal any data a user may enter at a separate Web site.

Steve...
Well...
I'm not getting any infected emails or getting any AV warnings and i already understand the flaw that came from previous versions of IE...
The multiple 'Log on / Connect' problem seems to have cured itself and the 'favorites' panel is just one of those things that you cannot alter.
Now it seems, my PDF reader ( something which never occured until i downloaded IE7) continually wants to access the web.
Also waiting for pages to load is suddenly taking about three times as long...when i switch to Firefox they load double fast ( and thats using the 'stealth' version of Firefox thru the proxies )
I'm gonna stick with IE for a few more days...give it a fair crack of the whip...See what the IT boards are coming up with.

The anti-phishing feature keeps whining about wanting to check with Microsoft about sites. This after I told it I did not want the feature.
Links order all screwed up and the default was off.
Nothing really bad yet except Microsoft insisting their way is the right way. Annoying but not unexpected.
iespell still works with it, that's good.

You can turn it off by right clicking the 'phishing checker' symbol at the bottom...

I still can't hit 'enter' in the address bar, or 'go'. I can only visit sites that are already bookmarked, can't type anything in. Pretty lame. Back to Firefox!

That's.... insane. I've been using IE7 for a while now and have yet to encounter a "can't type anything into address bar" glitch.
Regarding the favorites bar, first you need to "pin" it to the side of your browser, as opposed to just pressing the button for it. Then you can resize.
Regarding connection issues, I'd go into the browser options and see how your connection is set up. That may be the issue.
I haven't encountered any of these problems.

It doesn't look very nice and you can't change it.
