Lots of fun, even if you may have to sit in the back! I'd like to see what they present for MIT!

Google for tickets. Boston is pretty this time of year, and it's an easy ride on the t! I'm going and skepticscott and Kitten and I think Rebecca!

Lots of fun, and good eats afterwards (I hope!)

There is a really fun place near Harvard that isn't too pricey (they make thier money on drinks I think) but has lots of good college atmosphere (Ivy League people). Plus, the waitstaff (male and female) is cute.

If you liked them at TAM, enjoy them at MIT. Also, take in the little MIT musuem. It's lots of fun!

I'll show up if my friend from Yale is free. She might not want to spend the night in Boston though. So I'll prolly have to drive up rather than taking amtrack. Don't know about the parking though... =o/

As much as I love those guys, I'll probably skip this. I was in the second row at TAM when they were there and standing in the far back of a crowd just doesn't give the same thrill. :)

you can park at the Alewife T stop speeder. Then take the T in! You don't want to park in Boston!

Usually people just park at the T.

Kitten2 is already complaining as she and Jamie ate lunch together and totally ignored everyone else at the table. They were totally rude, and got along like best friends.

Highlight of her TAM!

To just be in the front area (she is getting the upgraded ticket to sit with her sister, I'm stuck in the back....) is a let down for her also!

Still, I'd like to see what kind of show they put on for MIT students!

I hope they blow up some part of Harvard!

Oooh.... blow up (some of) Harvard. Excellent idea. Sounds like fun.

Usually people just park at the T.I'm going to park at Alewife. $5 for parking and $2.50 for round-trip on the T, plus a much, much easier to get to.

I"m in the back with you and REbecca Scott!

We could take the T to Harvard, blow part of it up, and then eat at this nice place Evelyn knows of. Great hamburgers. Fun college atmosphere. Good view of Harvard in flames.

I'm torn between baking soda and vinegar, or a giant mentos and diet coke.

I usually stop at a friend of the family's place in newton. And they drop me off at the train. But they might get the wrong idea about my female friend considering that the other times I stopped by with a female in tow I was with a significant other.

IOW, the husband (in his like 70's) would make fun of me for being with a member of the opposite sex without sex being involved, :D

What's a good stop to park at?

SkepticScott

I like to park at Alewife, which has its own exit off route 2 and a large parking garage.

Oh? What model/color is your car?

Sounds good. I'll look it up.

Alewife is definitely the best place to park in Boston. Much easier than Newton, even.

You should bring a contingent up from Yale! We can gang up on Harvard together...

I'll be there too, with as many Mythbustersfanclub folks as we can get. I'll also have my car, and the time to keep cruising for a while to find parking close in. Public transportation and I don't get along, even though it's absolutely the best way to get into MIT.

I SO hope MIT does a hack for the Mythbusters' visit! BTW, if you check out MIT's website for maps and such, it says funny things while reloading like it's checking the gravitational constant in your area, and that the bits are flowing slowly today. Very cute. http://whereis.mit.edu/map-jpg?zoom=level4&centerx=709690&centery=495520&oldzoom=level5&map.x=217&map.y=142

Mattfn, who changed her trip to come because she doen't want to be teased!

cool! There is a parking area nearby.

If you like to WALK (and I mean a little hike) Kitten has a parking pass for her street. She likes to WALK...keeps her in shape.

Sooo....

Kitten2 is telling me what we HAVE to do in Boston.

Eat Vietnamese food (current bf is Vietnamese and she loves the food. bf mother will spend hours cooking instead of heating up a frozen pizza like a good AMERICAN mother would).

Shop at Chinese Grocery store. When I grew up Chinese food came in 2 cans you mixed from La Choy! Now even I have to whip up stir fried rice and eat with chopsticks. You get cool cheap bowls and interesting spices and foods. And you get tea. My favorite is Korean Red Gingsing tea. My least favorite is Pimple Solution tea. ICK!

Then next morning we have to go to every trendy, odd, funky clothing store. Pink, with skulls? Oh yeah. Let's look different by all dressing alike. But it's fun and I"m not tempted to spend any money buying myself neon fishnets. Kitten2 is shopping for TAM outfits. She has to hold up her "worst dressed" title from last year!

Then MYTHBUSTERS. She gets to sit up front with sister, the non MIT types in the back. After hopefully Scott and REbecca will go with us over to Harvard Square and we can eat at a fun restaurant (not much too good near MIT). Anyone wanting to join us for food after let us know!

And if you are into pink/skull wear, that's fun too.

I'm in for food afterwards. Don't know about my friend from Yale yet but, worse comes to worse, I guess I can always scrounge up another one.

I'm going to go ahead and suggest we hang out in Central afterward since it's a shorter walk from MIT and there's a crap load of great pubs and whatnot around there. Middle East? Tavern on the Square? Whatever, we can play it by ear, just thought I'd throw my thoughts in.

Oh! I'm going, by the way!

Heh, the female to male ratio is starting to get quite skewed. I can't decide if this is a good thing or not. "Hey! Let's put him in stockings and pumps!" "Don't forget the pink bow!" "Nooooooooo!" :scared:

Speeder, we need to meet up with you! PM someone your cell phone number and what not!

Rebecca, you and Kitten pick where to go!

Central would be fine... although we could just hop on the T to Harvard (the T is right at MIT). Thoughts?

Middle East might be fun, though...

cool, Scott make sure Kitten/rebecca has your number so we can all find each other!

I'd say "meet in front of the weird looking building" but so many of them are.

Kittynh,
They both have my cell phone's number.

Either Central or Harvard Squares, and letting Kitten and Rebecca pick the restaurant, is all fine with me. I haven't eaten in that area for so long that my advice would be worse than useless.

I'll come all JREFed up so you can find me. JREF shirt, JREF cap, JREF wristband, flying pig pin, bent fork in a JREF mug in one hand, media player with a TAM DVD in the other. Signed copies of Flim Flam tucked under each arm and a JREF pen forgotten behind the ear. Randi fish on one arm, Flying Spaghetti Monster on the other. Three decks of cards hanging from my neck. Trick decks, trick cans, trick spoons, trick tricks. A cd hanger, a tie rack, a towel rack, a gun rack (to make the southerners feel right at home), a card rack, a cooling rack, a computer rack, a relay rack and of course a towel. :D

oh dear......

that's right, you look for us. Kitten, Rebecca, Scott, Kitten2 and myself are all 75 year old Chinese professors at MIT. Just look for the group of old Asian males.

Preposterous! I looked and the oldest chinese professor at MIT is 74! I'm being misled I say!

I'll be the short guy in jeans and a plain t-shirt. ;)

Any ideas for meeting beforehand for supper/drinks? 8 from the Mythbusters fanclub, some from out of state, so we're meeting early......somewhere. We've got a couple young'uns too (11 & 15), so not so dying for a noisy college bar.

Also, anyone get anything besides e-mail confirmation of your tickets?

Edit: Nevermind, pickup is from 2pm onward.

Non-MIT students and members of the general public can purchase front section tickets (or upgrade their back section tickets) on the day of the show if they are attending with an MIT student or community member. 1 front section upgrade per MIT person. I noticed the price is upped for this too...$12 MIT, $16 general public.

I've no idea what I'll be wearing (still workin on the t-shirt) but my car is medium grey. :p Good luck with that!
